Going to my first Flyer baseball game today
My baseball buddies and I are heading to Day-Air Ballpark to see the Flyers take on tOSU. We like to travel around to MLB and MiLB stadiums and games etc... While all of us have been to see the Dragons many times, none of us have ever been to a college game. We are all looking forward to it. I don't know anything about the team. I saw part of one of the Rhode Island games on ESPN+ recently. Go Flyers.

That greatly exceeded my expectations. What a big turnout. In all my baseball travels, that was one of the more raucous crowds I have ever seen. It was a great environment. I loved that the pep band was there. Kudos to the Dragons staff for handling what I assume was a larger than expected crowd. UD Arena is not the only venue in town that does a great job.
I was very impressed with UD's starting pitcher, Kenny Serwa. He threw seven shutout innings, allowing just four hits. His breaking ball had a real bite and kept the Buckeyes off balance the whole time. You could tell the players from both teams were excited to be in front of a big crowd.
They have two more games at Day-Air coming up and if you are looking for a fun, cheap outing I would highly recommend going.

Had me intrigued, so I looked it the dates on line, and was wondering how much tickets were. Haven't been to a UD baseball game since I was in college and they played on Stuart Field. Watched a kid I know who pitched a bit as a freshman a couple of times.
What I didn't see, was how you obtain tickets. Are they free? If so, can you just walk in?

My buddy bought them on his phone while we were standing in line at the box office. The line was more than halfway to the sidewalk on N. Patterson. With Ticketmaster fees, tickets were $8. I think the other games the crowd will be somewhat smaller as tOSU fans were about a third of the crowd.
The only downside was the long lines for everything, but I really feel like the turnout caught everyone off guard and so the event was understaffed. The workers did a great job making the lines move, but we all bought two beers each when we reached the counter, LOL.

What about UD home games? Is there a cost? How much, and how to you buy tickets, or gain entry. When i was in college there was just a field and you walked up and stood around and sat in one of the few bleachers. IIRC, felt a lot like going to any youth baseball game, just a bigger field and obviously better players. I don't see anything on UD's website on how to obtain tickets.
Nevermind...I see there is an "other sports section on UD's website and baseball, softball, volleyball and soccer are all free to attend. Guess we don't need any sort of pass to get in. Might be worth taking the kids on a Saturday afternoon sometime.

I regret never going to games as a student. Unfortunately was not a college baseball fan at the time.
The atmosphere for the OSU game looked amazing on TV (I know this was not at Woerner Field, but wanted to echo the sentiments above).
