Good Luck...
Good luck to all of the young men who are playing their last game as a Dayton Flyer. I remember as parents how sad it was knowing we would likely never see our son on a playing field again. As a 5th year, we kind of had a dry run Sr. day and last game. The true end was tough. Still tears me up thinking about it. Us parents developed many new friendships that we still have today.
Although this year may not have ended up the way you wanted, you were still a part of a championship and first ever FCS playoff for UD. You will have made friends and relationships that will last way beyond your playing days. You will be part of each others weddings, births, and many other life events.
In the end you all will go out winners with a degree in hand from UD. You will find there is a whole other UD team out there. It is called alumni. It's not just old teammates either. It is alumni that will help you get a job, give you that break you need. As my son discovered, when you say you played ball for 4-5 years, that is a huge feather in your cap.
Good luck, play hard, and go out a winner.
GO UD!!
