You would take player x over player y. Sure. It's easy to say as a fan. And no doubt there's lot that goes into it. Character, fit, position. If you had a bunch of guys leaving early, you may look for four year guys specifically. But that's not exactly an issue for Dayton.
Now, take
Chris Wright for example but pretend he could handle the ball and had a great three point stroke. Great local kid, wants to come to UD, despite offers from Kentucky and the like. You absolutely take that kid and if he ends up being so good he is a lottery pick after one year, then you say good for him, and you go out there and use it to your advantage to open more recruiting doors. You cannot discount the affect just one lottery pick would have in terms of future recruiting.
