UD Basketball vs. Football Experience

What's more fun?

Basketball Parking: Park in the old Delco lot, walk half a mile in the dark under I-75 through the mud across the parking lot...and pay three bucks for the experience. (unless you have a full season parking permit)
Football Parking: Drive right up to the 50 yard line and pick your favorite seat. Park for free.

Basketball Seating: Sit in section 403 and nurse your nose bleeds.
Football Seating: Sit wherever you like. It doesn't matter what the ticket says.

Basketball half time entertainment: Guys in red suits with blue hair dancing to 90's techno pop.
Football half time entertainment: The Pride of Dayton marching band playing Beatles, Led Zepp and ELO.

Basketball Rivalry: Eggsavior always wins at home. UD almost always wins at home.
Football Rivalry: Poor Eggsavior can't afford to play anymore. (Though they looked pretty good in "We are Marshall".)

Thankfully, one thing is the same...UD brings us great student athletes who like to win...and nearly always do (win) at home!

Hard to beat the overall experience of being in the Arena with 13K fans, but UD Football is absolutely fantastic. The quality of the play is outstanding, getting in and out of the game is EASY, seating at Welcome is great in almost any seat, it is EASY to obtain food and to buy shirts, hats, etc. We almost always win at home, and did I mention it is FOOTBALL baby! Let's put it this way, I am more than happy to drive from Detroit to make a home UD Football game. I attend as many as I can, (and even some road games). I would also drive down for a BB game, but it would be a once a year thing. Just not nearly as easy as a football game. I will never understand why the good folks of Dayton, and especially the 12K to 13.5K basketball fans do not support football much better. I am looking forward to my son attending Dayton in a couple of years so that I can buy season tickets to football. Of course we will make some BB games as well, but ultimately, UD Football rules!
