Coach was on WONE a few minutes ago discussing the upcoming Spring and 2010 season. Here are a few points of interest:

Tino will be back and starting at QB. I think that we all knew and expected this to be the case.

Jared Phillips had surgery over the Winter and Timmy Fogerty is not recovering according to schedule. Timmy will be having surgery on Thursday. Neither will be available for Spring practice. No mention of Jeff Pechan.

3 non-conference games will be against Robert Morris, Duquesne, and Central State.

UD will hold the Women's Clinic sometime in July. This will make Smitch happy...

I had heard that we might be playing an Ivy next year, so I'm a bit bummed. I like Duquesne and Robert Morris, but I sure wish that we could play another Division I team in place of CSU.... Jeff Pechan seems to have disappeared. I would really like to hear that he is OK and that he will be coming back. Not great news on the back-up QB's.

Great to have Peyton back in the QB spot again. It would be nice to learn the status of Pechan....having a solid back up at QB is important.

I was just wondering, If Jared Phillips and Timmy Fogerty can't play this coming year because of medical reasons, can they gain redshirt status?? How does that work in NCAA rules ?

Coach only said that they would not be available for SPRING practice. He didn't say anything about the actual season. So hopefully by the fall they'll be ready to go if we need them to.
