3300 attended the Fordham game
It was a nice crowd - I'm not going to hoot and holler about it. This team deserves better support - much better support. I just read my alma matter Missouri had a record 11,000 yesterday against Tennessee - ok it was Tennessee and I'm not asking for 11,000 but AVERAGE attendance for this team should be 5,000. Also very disappointed in the local media - today I will call out WDTN channel 2 - they mentioned the score last night and this morning BUT THAT WAS IT. Inexcusable no highlights no interviews for senior day. In fact, I didn't see channel 7 nor channel 22 there yesterday.
By the way, NCAA.com UD RPI up to 33 barely ahead of 11 loss Virginia who Dayton pummeled in December.

Fox 45/ABC 22 was at the Arena on Sunday - hard to miss the Sports anchor as he is SUPER tall. Fox 45 usually has best local coverage of women’s team!

Problem is that every news team is there for first few minutes to get their A & B roll and they leave within minutes.

So it wouldn't have KILLED someone to do some postgame interviews. The game ended at four there would've been time.

Crowd
A crowd of 3000+ for a women's game is way above average and creates a great Arena environment. To get to the 5000 level on average UD will have to consistently demonstrate sustained performance on the Hoover/Mallott team level....including winning in the NCAAs. Attracting top opponents is also a factor. It will be interesting to see what UConn draws to the Arena in 2020.

Of course it is. But I live 1000 miles away...otherwise I'd be there.
Re NCAA appearances....this applies to both the men and women....both teams have to win when they get there. Making the Dance isn't enough. We consider our programs "elite". That title is earned by consistent success in the NCAAs.

The thing the ladies have been doing is breaking ground at UD. In 2010 they won the first NCAA game ever. After this year it will be a streak of 8 out of 9 years in the tournament. Two years in the second round and an Elite 8 run. They are making their way into the "elite" status of women's basketball. All new air for this program and I wish more people would get out to watch history in the making.

For years I had been extolling the ladies success on flyerhoops.net but all too often met with "this is the men's basketball msg board". Little to no interest in women's sports. But that is beginning to change now as some former posters who poo pooed women sports in general are now at least following them.
One took his wife on a date to see the Duquesne game. Loved it and will be back. Need wives and daughters to take the interest and if dad don't want to go leave him home.
BTW game against GM is father daughter night. Winning cures everything, but I feel Green team will be more exciting to watch and be even more successful than JJ teams.
Great recruiting class coming in plus great transfers. Brighter days ahead for ladies. Of course getting top local talent won't hurt either.

Speaking of senior night is there any video of the celebration. Spectrum sports interviewed coach Green with about 13 minutes left for air time, took a break said they would be back but streaming ended.
Would love see the video including cutting down the net.

Here you go Avid. 30 minutes of senior recognition and net cutting! https://www.facebook.com/DaytonWBB/v...6092020889659/
There is video of each player as part of the recognition, which was shown on the video boards that is included.

UAC Flyer outlined it well - plenty of success to "grow" attendance. No excuses!!!
