The Flyers drop their second A10 series of the year, losing 2 of 3 games to
Temple, one of the bottom teams in the A10. Mike Hauschild got the loss on Friday, going 8 innings and giving up 3 runs for a complete game loss (3-1). Tim Bury pitched 8 innings of 4 hit, 1 run games, and Parker Shrage comes in to pitch the 9th in a 7-1 win on Saturday. Burney Mitchem, the Flyers all-time leading strikeout leader (296) gets the loss on Sunday in a 8-3 defeat after going 5 innings giving up 5 runs and 8 hits.
The Flyers are tied for 2nd with
Rhode Island at 12-6, 2 games behind
Saint Louis. Saint Louis has 3 games left, while Dayton and Rhode Island have 6 games left. This coming weekend is Senior Day on Saturday, when we finish up the series with 5th-place Massachusets (11-7 A10). Our last series is with
La Salle, who tied for 11th with Temple. Looks like our A10 playoff magic number is 4.
