It’s good to hear there is a battle for setter. Bridget played very well last year as a freshman when she was called on and Brooke has come a long way since her freshman year with her placement and timing with the hitters. She could be a very special setter if she continues to work hard and step up her on-court agressivness and command. It’s her third year in the program so she should be more comfortable with that.

I will not be surprised if Sierra plays Rightside OH this year. The times she has gotten on the court playing behind two 1st team A10 middles, she has put up some great blocks. Having an athletic 6’3” blocker stopping the opponents’ best hitters would be fun to see. We have to get better at blocking as a team this year and this is certainly an option. I also think she can run what I’m going to call the reverse slide. When Kendyll runs a slide from the middle to the right, Sierra would run a slide from the right to the middle. The setter watches the blockers and sends the ball to the open hitter. One sliding player is hard to stop because you don’t know where to stop and set the block. Two are pretty much impossible except a rare lucky guess.

I hate Jamie isn’t available this year, but we are very, very deep at OH. It will come down to who can play 6-rotations - both defense and hitting out of the back row. They can all attack from the front.
