Let's Pretend

BEVERLY HILLS (MI) -- The Dayton Flyers are set to tee it up with the Saginaw Valley State University Cardinals tomorrow afternoon in their one and only exhibition contest before the regular season kicks off. While providing valuable in-game experience for the six newcomers on UD’s roster, the bottom line is that “let’s pretend” basketball games like these are essentially meaningless.

Unless, of course, you happen to lose by 32 points:

Hopefully, the Red and Blue will execute a little better than they did vs. Purdue in their not-so-secret scrimmage with the Boilers last Sunday. Archie called it “an eye opener” when he talked to David Jablonski of The DDN about that run:

-- Altho he is presently working out in Toronto and won’t suit up for Dayton until three days before Christmas, Dyshawn Pierre still made the list of the top 10 Canadians in college hoops:

-- "The Sweet Twitter Stream of the Week” comes to us from “The Hometown Coach” Mark Adams who was burning up the intrawebs with his Tweets. Like this one:

Break out seasons on horizon: Paul Jesperson, UNI; Wes Washpun, UNI; Joe Thomasson, Wright St; Evan Bradds, Belmont; Kendall Pollard, Dayton

And this:

EnthusiAdams PG’s to Watch: Fred Van Vleet, Wichita St; Kahlil Felder, Oakland; Nick Lindner, Lafayette; Jalan West, NW St; Scoochie Smith, Dayton

And another one:

Best Generation to Generation to Generation: Evan Bradds (Belmont) Father David Bradds (Dayton) Grand Father Gary Bradds (Ohio State)
