Best win of the season by far. And one of the best performances. Waters was as good as she's ever been. She sees things nobody else sees on the field. The passes were perfect, perfect in angle, weight, and timing. The finishes were just as good.
Can't draw much from one game about the O'Malley/Leedom switcheroo, but at the very least we found out UD was not hurt by the move. I think Leedom did a better job than O'Malley at clearing high-ball headers. She really got her weight behind them and got some balls out of danger. Its not sexy, but it gets the job done. O'Malley's body language just looks more comfortable in the MF. We still gave up a somewhat soft goal, but one goal is certainly better than 2 or 3. Lets see how this switch plays out over the next 2-3 games.
Corner kicks: it is what it is. I would consider taking Waters and putting her in the box. We need her toughness in the box more than her service from the flag. In theory, we should have a half dozen people capable of taking corner kicks. Our CK execution cant get any worse, so from my chair, it risks nothing to try it.
Congrats Coach Tucker on 300 big ones. Ive seen probably 200 of them in person.
