Terrible weather. We weathered the storm however and got a result.
URI is...well....terrible. But we did earn a clean sheet and that's never a bad thing. Still, Kiehl is being asked to do way too much to give us a chance to win.
I thought Merritt acquitted herself very well in the back line after basically not playing more than 20 minutes all season before tonight's start. I think she earned more PT -- Weigel's status notwithstanding. Pestell was solid again. Mink had some moments on the right flank.
Our field vision and pace of play is still killing us however. Too many players play with their head down and are not seeing the field. Nobody out there to switch the play weak-side. When a ball is on the left side it stays on the left, right stays right. We get bunched up and its no wonder there are fewer passing lanes. And players are not helping teammates with running to a passing zone with a good angle for receiving the ball.
Johns was solid in goal. No bobbles. Tough weather to handle the ball. Goal kicks were okay.
