Huge win over Davidson
Dodged a bullet there. Didn't play particularly well with all the turnovers but a win is a win.
Scooch in OT was Ice Man. Those three straight threes were a thing of beauty. Lots of contributors tonight, Kendall, Xeryius, Scooch, Charles, Crosby, Mikesell, Kyle, and Daryl all contributed to the win in some aspect. Going to be a tough poll winner.
These guys just don't give up. I got so frustrated I walked away from the TV a couple times and I gotta say, when I saw they were down 11, I was pretty down but never gave up hope.

In the game thread, I said to stick a fork in them because they were done. Little did I (or very many of us, for that matter) know that they were done like a filet mignon at the Pine Club.
Sorry I doubted you, guys. Let's stick a fork in VCU on Senior Night.

So is this where we are going to confess our sins? I admit I thought we were done with about 6 minutes to go.

Me too, for about the 3rd time this season. My BP would likely scare the heck out of me if I knew what it was...

When I walked back into the room and we were down 11, I just sort of resigned myself to the loss. Didn't even know they had been down 13! Teams lose, and it's frustrating they way they played with the turnovers, but these guys just never give up.

Anyone who says they weren't burying the Flyers with 6 minutes left wasn't posting in the game thread or is lying.

The wins over Rhody and Davidson, both on the road, are just so huge and such confidence builders. Remember when this team couldn't win on the road, just 5 - 6 years ago? This class of seniors will forever be etched in my memory and I hope the next classes can keep this winning going!

It's clear that in conference play UD gets everyone's best shot. The league may be down this year a bit, but the A10 intensity we get each game should prepare us well for the NCCAT.

Davidson is pretty good club to be eighth in the down A10. I say Wildcats are underachieving this year.

Playing Gibbs and Aldridge all 45 minutes was bad coaching and impossible. What did Aldridge have 6 points in the second half and in OT? And Gibbs missed those two free throws down the stretch, and stopped playing good D or O.

No it wasn't. McKillop played his best players as long as he could. His bench/subs are worthless. Just wait until next year when all they have is Aldridge. Davidson is still recruiting at the SoCON level and are going to be in a lot of trouble in the future if they don't change.

Has anyone ever seen a Sophomore come in to his own with so much confidence that he belongs on the floor with all those seniors like XW has? Is there anyone else in the A10 who could challenge this guy for most improved player? I really, really, really love this guy.

In a 16-game conference schedule, I remember each season thinking UD's best route to 12-4 or 11-5 in conference was always 8-0 at home coupled with 4-4 or 3-5 away. Our seemingly consistent inability to win away games, let alone steal an away win, really put pressure on us to hold serve at home. By winning road games, though, and holding serve at home it allows us to move up from that dreaded fourth or fifth seed zone into the top two.
It's pretty amazing how different it feels.

The difference between UD and the rest of the A10 lies in the depth of talent. Davidson had two players who were as good as anyone in the league. Bonnie's had had two players that were also as good as anyone. Their coaches played their stars long minutes. The fatigue factor set in AND their teammates could not step up.
It was obvious last night that Davidson players, especially Gibbs were tired. Who gave up all the points to Scoochie in OT? Gibbs. The last two point basket by Scoochie is a set play that has been run all season. That was the first time all year that Scoochie was actually open on that off ball pick cut. Gibbs was gassed.
Giving Scoochie a blow and a spark is something Crosby did last night. Give credit to Archie for putting him in there.
In crunch time, UD has depth. You never know which player will step up on offense or defense. UD has had better across the board talent it's A10 opponents. It shows up most at the end of games. Davidson played a great game last night, but you need more than 1-2 players to win.

This a big reason why we have been a second half team this year.

Don't count me in that crowd. 6 minutes is an eternity. We have been going on 9 minute runs in mere minutes all season. We were literally playing against two players who were about to hit the wall. If I've learned one thing with this team, this coach and this group of seniors, it's don't count them out. I also think we punched our ticket to the tournament with this win. We will likely have a loss in the coming weeks, but this team is primed for the tournament. Love these players more than any I've witnessed (although the elite 8 run team comes close). Yes, I'm the 6th.
