BEVERLY HILLS (MI) -- The Red and Blue Game is less than 10 days away. I’ll be driving down to UD Arena on Saturday the 23rd to join many of you and get our first look at this year’s squad. In the meantime, here is some light reading to help us all pass the time:
-- 2012 recruiting target Aaric Armstead of Chicago (to whom BG has offered a scholarship) just picked up another from Nevada, according to ChicagoHoops.com:

Nevada is a l-o-o-o-n-g way from the Windy City, son. Armstead also has offers from New Mexico, Fairfield, Valparaiso, Loyola, Wisconsin-Green Bay and Indiana State.
-- Fellow 2012 prospect Sean Sheldon got some nice ink in his hometown paper:

-- Former UD Class of 2011 recruiting target George Fant is gonna be a Hilltopper, according to this rare freebie article from Rivals.com:

UD Pride MB poster Flyer 95 is still in mourning over the loss of Fant.
-- I’ll be cranking out the annual “FTS Tour of the Magazine Rack” soon, in order to ferret out what the College Basketball Yearbooks have to say specifically about BG and the Boys. In the meantime, here’s a general overview of this year’s crop of CBYs, courtesy of Fanhouse:

-- Nice profile on
Richmond’s Chris Mooney:

If he’s as smart as I think he is, Mooney will stay put in Spiderland, unlike his predecessors John Beilein and Jerry Wainwright.
-- College hoops recruiting smart guy Dave Telep has left Scout.com to join ESPN.com:

-- Hey, I know our team’s nickname is the “Flyers” and all, but this right here is some straight up crazy stuff:

Dang, 71 out of 75 guys who have tried it, have died at it…gotta love those odds! Never has the term “terminal velocity” had a more precise meaning.
-- I’m no financial genius, but it seems to me there are a few bucks to be made by buying a bunch of those “forever” stamps, hanging on to them and then reselling them at a later date for a guaranteed profit.
-- Yeah I know -- it’s “mystery meat smothered in BBQ sauce -- but let us all hail the return of the mighty McRib sandwich:

-- So how come this never happens to me? A family wraps up a painting after it gets dislodged by kids throwing a tennis ball, put it away for safekeeping and forget about it for 20-something years. Yup, turns out that it’s an original Michelangelo:
