Amber Deane
Quiet debut in the Indiana exhibition game. She played 18 minutes and had 4 assists and three turnovers. Three free throws and 0-3 from the field.

Four points, two assists in 13 minutes of Indiana's 71-37 beat down of Presbyterian College. Did not start.

Should have played her 40 minutes- she would seem to have scored 36!!! We should never have let our best player leave.

And you would have accomplished that in what manner? Showing another girl the door?

Watched the Northern Kentucky / Indiana game tonight. Amber played 6 minutes, had 1 assist, and took no shots.
It was nice to see her play again -- too bad it wasn't for UD!

Her injuries must have taken a toll. No way this is the same player that scored over 1000 points in just over three years for us. I was against letting her go, but now see she had little left to give us.

Possible she is not 100% yet either. Injuries take a while to recover from, so lets see if she return to her former self. Still all in all her experience would be helpful to the flyers if she were still here. If memory serves me she was a good FT shooter, lord knows we could use another one, especially late in game situations.

It's highly unlikely she gets healthier. The calcification isn't going to get better. I hope for her sake she doesn't regret continuing to play later in life.

She seemed to be moving OK -- no apparent issues running or cutting.
I think she's just plays quite a different role in IU's system than she did in UD's. She did a good job in spacing the floor and moving the ball. She's a quick, fast threat that NKU had to dedicate a defender to and allowed their primary shooters to open up and generate points.
In any event, let's hope she's recovered from her injury and it doesn't affect her later.

Had not played last two games. IU is in same quasi tournament as UD this week, one that doesn't seem to lead to a champion.

Maybe with the IU coach, if you do not play good D and/or you turn the ball over, you do not play.

I tuned in to the Indiana games in FL hoping to see Amber. I did, on the bench in street clothes. Also believe she was at Dayton's last game. (Indiana had already played and were finished for the tourney.)

Out again with concussion. OSU destroying a rather weak looking IU 24-10 in the first quarter.
IU certainly has the biggest starting lineup, as two of their ladies are 250 lbs plus.

Looks like Deane was back in the IU lineup this week.
http://www.hoosiersportsreport.com/2...ichigan-78-74/
Amber Deane, who had not played since Dec. 12 against Valparaiso because of concussion-like symptoms, came up with a shot block with 1:02 left...<stuff deleted>...Deane, a native of Michigan, played 15 minutes Tuesday.

I saw a headline in the Oakland MI paper that Amber Deane was hired very recently to coach the girls hoops team at her alma mater, Detroit Country Day. The article was behind a paywall.
Even though it's been six years, I am still puzzled about her departure from Dayton.

Interesting given her continued pro success but can't deny DCDS is a better long term career move.

I know and maybe that's all there was to it if she really really wanted an IU degree. I always thought there was more.

Me too, it seemed to happen very quickly and quietly.
I hope she does well as a coach. I enjoyed watching her at UD!!

Yeah, I can't imagine the long recovery from her injury helped. And let's face it, a master's from IU probably carries more prestige than one from UD outside the region. I've always heard that you should get degrees from different places if possible.
