First of all, good to see the coverage on channel two in Dayton about the team with interviews with Shauna, Kelley and SGA. Tonight St. Joseph's plays Fordham so GO HAWKS!!! After La Salle, I don't think any game will be taken for granted even with their 6-11 record though they've won three in a row including beating La Salle and UMASS by 31. They did lose to St. Louis by 39. They have four players in double figures and looking at their numbers they reflect a competitive team.
+5 in points on the year and +17 total in assists to turnovers made.

Aren't a lot of assists to be had when you shoot 25% and only 5 buckets from players not named Burdette and most of those 5 were stick-backs. Burdette has 1 of the 2 Dayton assists.

On a day when the shots were not falling, defense and rebounding saved our rear ends.

Unfortunately they cannot be taken out which makes it basically impossible to win the A10 tournament. 120 minutes in 3 days would be too much for the three of them I hope they prove me wrong

They need someone else to step up but it is getting late in the season and unlikely that will happen. But, it is good that Layfield is improving

I think it's worth noting that we had only 11 TO's in the game. So while we weren't shooting well, we took care of the ball, defended, and made enough FT to win. That took some poise.
There were about 25 or so students across from the band. That's 25 more than I have seen in some time (at least a couple of years) and they stayed for the entire game. (They used to do promotions for the students and they would show up to get the giveaway and then leave.) The guys in the front row pounded on the boards during the defense cheers, like they do at the men's game, especially at the end of the game and OT to disrupt St Joes offense. It made a difference, helped get the rest of crowd going too. Good job and I hope they come back!!

This was a good win and the Flyers were able to gut it out. Some pretty sloppy play in the first half on both ends of the court, but much better focus, especially defensively, after the break. JaVonna, Saicha, and Jenna had terrific games.

St. Joe's is very fast and moved the ball well. Took a little time for the Flyers to adjust, but they did. Team has really progressed, but will need better bench contribution to make it through in the one-and-done tournament environment.

If you'd told me that they'd win a game like this without dropping a single 3 in regulation, I wouldn't have believed it. Only 1 three pointer in the whole game!

Crowd was great, especially near the end -- kept the noise level and energy high.

Great to see Ward and Madeline in close. Noticed she kinda walked gingerly but has brought her weight back up.

As the saying goes its not how you play the game its how you finish. And the ladies have certainly learned how to work through their struggles to get the "W". In the end that is all most will remember come March and the A-10 finals.

Still stunned puzzled regarding the opening play with the lackadaisical in bounds pass and no effort by Jenna to get it.

For SGA -the ball sort of slipped out of her hands and rolled toward the bench. For Jenna - she was thinking we would get a do-over. Both screwed up. This was as bad as the Dennis turnover against SLU.

The online 2016-2017 Media Guide incorrectly lists Amber Deane in the #21 position with 1056 points -- should be in #18 position with 1194 points. Looks like her 2015-16 stats aren't included in the top line total (but are included in the bottom line total).

So...Austria now needs 18 to catch Kendel Ross (1063) at #21.
