Very nice. Hopefully Camara and he will be selected by teams which believe in developing drafted talent.

Can somebody explain all this to me? It looks like you can declare for the draft, hire an agent, and not withdraw your name before the draft, and you can do all of that twice now and still retain your college eligibility.
Is that correct?
If you get picked, are you obligated to join that team that picked you? It sounds like you still have college eligibility even if you get picked.
If true, Daron may not withdraw his name.
https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/2023...y_and_entrants:
Declaration for the draft no longer results in automatic loss of college eligibility. As long as a player does not sign a contract with a professional team outside the NBA or sign with an agent, he retains college eligibility as long as he makes a timely withdrawal from the draft.
NCAA players may now enter and withdraw from the draft up to two times without loss of eligibility. Previously, the NCAA treated a second declaration of draft eligibility as a permanent loss of college eligibility.
A player who has hired an agent retains his remaining college eligibility regardless of whether he is drafted after an evaluation from the NBA Undergraduate Advisory Committee. Players who declare for the NBA draft and are not selected have the opportunity to return to their school for at least another year only after terminating all agreements with their agents, who must have been certified.[7]

Agreed, but the scouts will still say (correctly) that Deuce may need to prove that he can do that in front of a packed house, while the shot clock is running. The last guy who did that played his way into being the 8th pick in the 2020 draft. If he comes back, then AG needs to find a way to get him free outside the arc.

In order to retain eligibility, he would have to "make a timely withdrawal from the draft" by May 31.

Calls him a “valuable second round” pick. Not sure if that’ll be enough for him to stay in the draft, but the combine invite makes me think it’s more likely his days as a Flyer are over. Hope I’m wrong.

A couple of things to consider-the 2024 draft class is thought to be much weaker than this year's class. Thus, he may be better off waiting as his chance of being a first round choice is much better. Also, I haven’t seen him mocked above the middle of the second round which isn’t ideal.

Last year 76 players attended the NBA Combine...guaranteed Lottery picks don't go so this is basically an invitation for fringe players to try and move up.
Here's the 2022 NBA Combine individual stats...it'll be interesting to see DaRon's true physical stats compared to others.

This is the last year that's true. Starting in 2024, all players invited to the combine must attend, including top players.

Good luck at the combine to our guy Deuce!! I haven’t said my official goodbye on here since he hasn’t made any official long term announcements, but looking more and more like we’ve seen our last of him in a Flyer uniform!

Yeah, we won’t need to contract for a halftime act called “Quick Change” (and R.I.P. to the husband from that team): our offense will go from post-centric to perimeter-centric in a heartbeat if Deuce leaves.

Might be a blessing in disguise, and this is not a knock on DaRon, but the offense may become more creative and flow better.

The offense didn’t flow last year because we didn’t have a healthy backcourt that could penetrate and put pressure on the defense. We became one dimensional. I bet the offense would look better this year given that we would have more guards to balance out the O. There’s no way we’d be better off without Daron this year.

What were the reasons it didn't flow the other four years Grant has been here (yes I agree it flowed in 2019-20)?

When basketball was played by men...like Bulls vs Pistons...those games were like 85-82. Horrible flow. Lots of isolation and 1-on-1...elbows and knees flying everywhere...blood too. That's what and how basketball should be played. Flow and final scores of 132-125 are for the woke crowd...the only flow Super Rollo wants to see is blood...and beer taps.

As a Pistons fan I loved the Bulls-Pistons. Actually haven't watched hardly any NBA since the early 90's. "Flow" would hardly describe the "Bad Boys".

But they were NBA Champions! They had to have GREAT flow!
As for college, the BIG10, PAC12, Horizon and Big12 have horrible flow. I don't watch the SEC or ACC so I won't comment.

NCAA Champions by conference since 2000
Big10 - 2
ACC - 7
SEC - 3
Big12 - 3
BE - 8*
The BE (old and new) have as many championships as the SEC, Big12, and Big10 combined.
Do they have flow? More so than the Big10 games I watch. Outside of that, I guess it depends on what flow means, which probably is something different to each viewer. I may not be a fan of current NBA, but I don't want a return to the 90's Pistons type of ball either.

somewhere there is a side by side picture/meme of Bill Lambier in his prime and LeBron from a few seasons ago when the meme was created. Bill Lambier in his prime would be nowhere near the "bad boy" that he was considered in the 90s.

I think the NBA today can be just as rough, and maybe even dirtier than it was in the 90's. The biggest difference to me is the way the game is reffed along with the idea that every open shot needs to be a three. It cost the Celtics big time yesterday when Smart didn't get the shot off before the clock expired. Seemed like Tatum could have shot it for a 2, plus, they waited way too long to get into their "offense". I think the Celtics aren't happy unless they have at least 40 three point shots per game.

I like basketball played by men too. And football played by men. The difference is, those aren't the same sports.
But here's where I will 100% agree with you: I tried watching one of the NYK playoff games. I really tried, for Obi. I couldn't do it. I watched about 10 minutes and every . . . single . . . trip . . . down . . . the . . . court. . . the refs blew the whistle. It's unwatchable. Every time 2 players were within a COVID halo of each other one had to look at the refs and whine about the lack of a foul / the foul called. I'd rather watch soccer.
FFS, you want flow? It ain't the NBA.

Embiid shut down the Celtics' drives. Tatum drove into Embiid and kicked it out all game long, not just at the end.

Brown and Tatum both drove to the bucket with much success all game long. Tatum was 8-14 from 2, including a number of made baskets around the rim. Brown was 7-8 from 2, also with some of those occurring at the rim. I wouldn't call that shutting them down.

I cannot disagree with that. There should be a basic rule that says the closer you get to the rim, the more you asked for it. My dad used to call it something that will undoubtedly get me canceled for repeating (but was not intended as a slur).
Foul a 3 point shooter or undercut him - no hesitation, blow the whistle.
If the offensive player dribbles into the paint it should be viewed as akin to "no man's land" in a war zone. Enter at your own peril. And know you're going to have to fight your way out with hand to hand combat.
And suddenly, we have flow because the 15 foot jumper becomes beautiful again, as does the Ray Allen use of a screen.
And James Hardin would become a 3rd string player. (exaggerating)

Quick observation - UD has 2 players at the combine. NO OTHER A10 player is at the combine. That has to be a selling point for AG & staff.
