BEVERLY HILLS (MI) -- The Flyers travel to da ‘Burgh on Sunday afternoon for a matinee engagement with the surprising Atlantic 10 leading
Duquesne Dukes at the Consol Center. “From the Swamp” made the trek last year:

However, yours truly won’t be supporting the Ohio and Pennsylvania Turnpikes, visiting Primanti Brothers in the Strip District for breakfast or tooling out to Danny’s in the South Hills for an early dinner this time around.
Have I given up on the Flyers?
Child,
please.
I have over forty years invested in this basketball program. Many of you probably have more. It’s gonna require a lot more than losing to X at their mausoleum (yet again) or falling to a dang good Spider squad at our place for me to bail on BG and the Boys…and it should take more than that for you, too. Heck, we survived the JOB years it can’t possibly get that bad again -- can it?
Nahhh, the reason I’m not travelling to my former place of residence to see our favorite hoops team lace ‘em up has more to do with that whole experience last year, taken in its totality.
On the plus side, I finally got to meet my man The Fly.
On the negative axis, there was the relentlessly obscene jeering by “The Crew”; the heartbreaking way in which UD lost that game and when it was over and the feeling that I just wanted to get the hell out of there, hit Danny’s and head home. If it meant that I would skip talking to BG and the players, enabling me to relay that information to you (which is the reason I had driven 9 hours round trip in the first place), so be it.
You see, guys like Doug Hauschild and Doug Harris have to be there every single Flyer game -- it’s in their job description. Me? I have a full-time job and this ain’t it. I didn’t feel like facing a devastated coach and team after a hard luck loss and so I didn’t. And I don’t want to risk being a bad-luck talisman for the Flyboys again this time around.
