RIP Matt Derenbecker. That list could have been shortened to top 6 or at most top 8

I don't quite agree with the order but shows we've used transfers effectively. I had Sanford & Dillard ahead of Josh, then Parker (from Drake, tend to forget about him), Watson, Chatman ... Last two are incomplete - check back next year.
Loved Josh ... Maybe he never fully recovered from his injury, or was just soft-spoken. He accumulated nice stats but wasn't overly explosive or clutch.
Going beyond 10 years, you had Dave Colbert in the 80's, Mickey Perry, Rob Lowery, Andres Sandoval, DJ Stelly, Frank Iguodala (JC?), Darnell Hoskins (grad xfer 96-97?)... I'll spare you Jeffrey Brookins & Larry Hisle from the JOB era, ha! Makor Shayok JC, on and on ...

How about the ones that hurt us by transferring out. The only one I can think of is Khari Price. Maybe Gavrilovic because of the way the following season unfolded with only 6 scholarship players.

I generally agree with this. Kevin Dillard was a very talented point guard. I had huge expectations for his senior year. Although he performed well as a senior, I had higher expectations.
Then there is Derenbecker! What a beautiful stroke he had from the outside; but he had other issues that really held him back.

No one hurt us transferring out. If you do not want to be here, get outta here.

How about the guard that went to Colorado?
Or the BG recruit guard went to WV after one year?

McKinley Wright who's beaten us twice head to head, but his "replacement" Jalen Crutcher is doing just fine.
Juwan Staten went to WVU. Could have been special, no doubt, but like others said, it takes a little more to be a Flyer. Teammate Brandon Spearman went to Hawaii at end of BG era.
Trent Meacham went to Illinois. A few others released from their commits before ever suiting up: LaDontae Henton (Providence), Naz Carter (Washington), Percy Gibson (Iowa State).
I think Jordan Davis could excel at Middle Tennessee in C-USA. John Crosby stuffed the stat sheet for weak Delaware State.
We've won faaaaar more than we've lost, which is a credit to our staffs, program, and fans.

I've always felt that if Meachem didn't transfer, Plummer didn't run into his issues and Wright could have remained healthy, that team could have been elite 8 good or better. That was always me greatest 'what if" regarding UD basketball....until now.

Exactly, which is why Crutcher wasn't included on the list as greatest tranfers.

I think we all understand why the two I mentioned, transferred and don't hold hard feelings. And with Price especially, realize if he could've lived with Scoochie taking over as starting PG, would've been a major lift off the bench in 2014-2015 when we were very short of players and 2015-2016 when we had to depend on negative minutes of Crosby when giving Scooch a breather.

The only transfer out that hurt the program in any major way was Trent. Staten was addition by subtraction. We are way ahead of the game regarding transfers.

I don’t think those toe really hurt us. Sure the team had 1 true backup but it’s not like we expected the two who left to be world beaters

Not world beaters(talking specifically about Price here) but he did most of the PG when we went to the Elite Eight and having him on that roster would've helped immensely. We probably would've won another game or two which would've kept us out of the first eight, and we wouldn't have had to play 6 games within 9 days. I honestly believe that we could've beaten Oklahoma had they not been our 6th game in nine days.
Of course this is based on the assumption that Price's knee would've been healed enough to give us quality minutes that year. A huge assumption I agree.

I always had the impression that Khari needed the year off regardless for his knees, so transferring and using that season as a sit out year with a chance at more playing time in 2 years than he would have had under Scooch. Nothing concrete, but those were the rumors at the time.

2. Cunningham or Ibi
3. Vee
4. Cooke (you can see im not a fan)
5. Chatman
6. Parker
7. Sandoval

Thank you for your added tidbit on #4 I really believe this team would've been more successful if Archie would've never signed him and let Baby D. get starter minutes in his sophomore season. He would've been a much better team player. To this day I believe his growth was stunted and I don't mean by smoking or other things that are supposed to stunt growth.
