Grand Valley State
Flyers have to be ready for this exhibition considering Grand Valley made the final four at the Division Two level last year and have all starters back including a 1000 point scorer in Kayla Dawson. We don't want to see a repeat of the Ashland exhibition a few years ago. They love fast tempo while popping threes.

Game of the season...
At UConn on Nov 22. This is a very important game for the Flyers for a few reasons.
1. I recall a UConn opponent's coach explaining that he landed a prize recruit who told him that seeing UConn on his schedule was the deciding factor. This regular season game is the big time for the Flyers. I suspect that the other two UConn games scheduled down the road will not be played now that JJ is gone. Too bad if I'm right.
2. Dayton will lose on Nov 22.....beating UConn in Storrs is about as likely as winning Powerball. Opponents,..even Top 10 opponents... usually are blown out of the building at UConn. Thus, a respectable showing would be a huge plus for our program. By that I mean losing by no more than 20 points.
3. There is at least a chance for a solid showing. While UConn will be a Top 10 team on Nov 22, this year's edition will be minus three All Americans,...and cannot possibly be nearly as good as the Elite 8 team we played two years ago. We aren't as good either....but a solid showing would be great.
Can't wait...Go Flyers!

I wouldn't think the UConn contract will be cancelled because Coach Jabir is no longer here. There would be a monetary penalty UConn would have to pay and I just don't see Geno responding that way.

Southwest ohio is furtal ground for women's bball. Genocide would still love to recruit here and no better way than to play teams like UD.

Why and the world would UConn cancel the other games? To schedule some other team they will beat to death. I hope we are better with the new coach. Despite losing Austria and Grant, we can be better next year. I hope Blais waits until she has her strength and weight back, and comes back for a 6th year. She is a special player.

Only speculation on my part. UConn plays very few non conference road games. When they do it's usually for a specific reason, e.g., a home-and-home against a perennial power (Stanford, ND, Baylor...); a game in or very close to the home town of a prominent UConn senior; a game against a coach who is a close friend.
Re the latter, Auriemma and Jabir go way back; they're friends and GA was very impressed by Dayton's Elite 8 game. So, since JJ is no longer at UD and since there is a gap (one year?) between the start of the planned home-and-home, I just think there is a chance that the series may not be played. Surely, I hope I'm wrong.....I was just speculating. We'll see.
As for a monetary penalty for cancelling the home and home contract. I would not be surprised if there is a contract for this year only...with a "plan" for a subsequent home and home. Again, just speculation. Perhaps a UD insider can find out.

Maybe they'll still play Dayton on their way to ND!
