Excellent insight on the progress of RS Fr MB Amelia Moore after sitting out last year with an injury and dealing w/concussion protocol this season. She's improving every match and giving us something at the net.

Not to look ahead too much, but as fans we always do -

After this weekend we play at UC on the 30th. Thompson had 40 points on 86 swings for the Bearcats in a 5 set win over Houston yesterday. That is a pot full of swings. She leads the country in points and points per set

Another stat - Sneed of VCU is leading the country in both total blocks and blocks per set.

Peterson is 6th in the country in both points and points per set.

The VCU and UC matches are going to be huge. Could someone like Moore step up and be the difference? Will Westbeld be back for either match?

Thompson had a great summer leading the National Team for USA volleyball in their run to qualify for the next Olympics.

We will know a little more after this weekend health-wise. But if Moore has another big weekend, at a minimum she will get attention from Cincy’s defense, helping to free up other hitters, including Peterson.

Alli has also been upping her contributions in recent matches, I just happened to send questions off to Amelia last week, not Alli. A couple weeks ago Alli was seeing a doctor. Getting healthy is key to the CIN and VCU matches. And SLU is getting better. Three good matches to gage our improvements.

We’ve got depth, but having to ‘start’ so many different hitters this year sure makes it tough on the setter-hitter timing. I think we’ve had nine or ten different hitters start sets this year, and three different setters. A lot of different moving parts.

I'm usually more engaged on volleyball but not as much this year (although planning on attending both matches this weekend). I've followed the threads, box scores and stats.

Question: is Brooke Westbeld injured? Was she injured? I'm assuming so only going by the box scores.

Wesbeld had surgery in the off season on her shoulder. Her dad said she's only 80%. Needs rest, no need to push it.
