Richmond (History could be made)

Lauren Canatelli needs five three pointers to surpass Andrea Hoover for most three's and sure hope she gets them this game otherwise she'll get the record on the road in front of practically no one, at least no one who cares other than UD personnel and maybe the stray UD fan who lives in either Pittsburgh or Richmond when they play VCU. She's also only 14 points away from cracking the top 20 in all time scoring - she will surpass Amber Deane next and three points after that it's #19 and surpassing Austria. While Richmond has won three straight over St. Joseph's, La Salle and UMass this should be easy since in conference they have lost to VCU by 25, Davidson by 23 and Duquesne by 26 as well as losing to Rhode Island.

It's probably unlikely against Richmond but #18 is only 28 away.

Would have loved to have seen where Amber Deane ended up in the scoring list if she had completed her career with Dayton.

And what was sad about Amber is she was not healthy at Indiana and didn't play much, I remember on this blog reading all of the complaints "How did we let her go...?"

For this game and Davidson it's a great deal...

$10 gets you a ticket to the game, a small drink, a popcorn and a hot dog. (Must pick up printed food vouchers at the Ticket Office before half-time)

Probaly the best half of the year offensively, and certainly a great quarter, the second, with 27 points. 11 assists on 15 baskets. Best ball movement all year. Lots of inside out and outside in action. Dennis with 9 and 3, Scaife with 7 and 8, Wilmoth with 5 and 4 and Ward with 5 and 4 are leading the way.

Leading on rebounds an unbelievable 31-14. Richmond not very good, but great to see us play some decent offense.

Cannot say I have seen improvement this year from any Flyer except for Whitehead. She had 11 and 5 tonight to lead the team. She is a whole different player than at the start of the year. She was all defense and rebounding, but not she is showing some confidence on offense.

A walk in the park for the Flyers 71-50, as Richmond has one great player and a bunch that are terrible.

Defense once again throwing up an elite number, holding Richmond to 31% shooting. Conversely, Dayton shot 41% from the field which for this team is literally shredding the nets apart. Makes the game a lot easier when you can make a few shots. Richmond played us exactly even in three of four quarters. The second quarter won the game.

Worth noting that Richmond is terrible. We won, but not sure we moved the needle much. Did what we had to do with no second half drama. Held the 20pt lead the last 20 minutes.

Got to throw my vote for Maddy Dennis. 10 pts 4 of 5 1 ft 5 rebounds and 1 steal. Her defense in the post is refreshing. Forces post players to alter their shots. Dennis has had multiple double doubles. What other non starter can say the same.

I’ll put in for Giacone finally healthy. Point guard capable and steady shooter. By the way Maddy’s folks visiting from Australia and will be in Pittsburgh.

I would nominate Giacone except she didn't play last year so doesn't fit the most improved player. She should start in my opinion, great court vision. She'll be an asset for sure next year.

Glad Maddy parents will be in town an stay for senior night.

I'd put Giacone as biggest surprise and Chandler as biggest disappointment
