R.I.P. Andres Acevedo

Andres Acevedo, former UD men's soccer player (UD '14), passed away in his sleep over the weekend. Please keep his fiance and their families in your prayers.

Edit: I should add that his fiance is Janna Krafka, former standout UD volleyball player. A very sad situation for all.

Yes it is sad. What I posted on social...

Some unfortunate news to share. Former Flyer MSOC star Andres Acevedo (2010-13) passed away over the weekend. Andres started 44 matches in 63 overall appearances in his career with 9 goals and 4 assists. He was the fastest touchline player with the dribble-drive the program may have ever had, highly-skilled, but also a hard-core effort player. My understanding was he was engaged to former Flyer volleyball star Janna Krafka (2012-15 / recordholder for career digs). Andres worked in Mason for Honeywell and followed the MSOC program closely. He was a fan favorite during his carer at Baujan Field and had some heroic moments (see link). He will be interred near his home back in Rego Park, NY. Our condolences to his family and loved ones.
