Anyone know what (if any) obligations JU has to the PFL now that they are leaving?

Can’t imagine the PFL having any real teeth. Maybe they slide Presbyterian right in a year ahead of schedule.

Jacksonville has only about 1000 male students. For a football team, they need 10 percent of the male student body to play.
One of the articles said they will give academic full ride to any player that stays. Many are talking about transferring, which will lower the male attendance at the school.

Yes, Larry mentioned a few games ago that bucky had a slipped disc or something. Not life threatening, but certainly not something he can sit thru a 2 hour game and do color work.
Hope the legend gets well enough to do a game, or part of a game sometime this season.

This is very interesting. Was definitely surprising.... However, there is a team moving from D3 to D1 that has yet to find a conference to play in. St. Thomas out of Minnesota. They were basically deemed "too good" and kicked out of their conference. This could be a great new addition to the PFL with the Jacksonville departure. St. Thomas is highly successful. Look out for more info on this.

I am saddened any time a school decides to drop football. It is such an asset in other ways and this hurts the conference when schools drop their programs. This is our second school to do this and we have had several move up which is better.
I would love to see St. Thomas come aboard. One more new place to go and see, but more importantly one more non-scholarship school. I wish more colleges that have programs, but are more basketball centric would take the non-scholarship route.
We can only hope this occurs.
