Well, they are looking like a selfish team putting up low percentage shots. Funny how when you are much the superior it's easy to play team ball, but when things are tighter, it all goes out the window. This is a good test for Joey Gruden.

They look disjointed at both ends. No teamwork, no hustle and poor shooting and rebounding.

Turnovers! I swear I was watching last year's Flyers. And Joey, where are the bigs? That was the Red Scare's competitive advantage.

Hopefully we do better agains the Miami undergraduates in the fall. In a one and done, showing up is important, today it appears we didn't.

I will forever think that signing Charles Cooke and relegating Baby D. to the 2nd string for his first 3 seasons slowed his growth and he would've been a much better player for the Flyers if he was allowed the trial and error others normally get to crack the starting lineup.
What a performance for him in this tournament. And yes, he can play point guard.

There goes half the arena revenue for the TBT. You could tell late that the refs were trying to help. Sibert, Walker, and Spearman….4-23. Nuff said.

He was great in all aspects of the game today - his ball handling has greatly improved and he is lightening quick - we lose by 20+ without him

Cat5s D was the difference. But to their credit they hit tough shots all day. At least 6-8 fall-away one-footed 15 footers with a hand in their face. Nailing threes from the coffin corner...some bouncing in. If they can keep hitting those shots then look out. But thats a big ask. They are quick on D though and challenge at the rim. Red Scare got denied 6-7 times from point blank. Better team definitely moving on.
Baby D was best player on the court but had no help.

Cat5 had the scouting report on Sibert and showed a lot of respect. Spotting up, he is lethal. Off the dribble, not as much. He was never left alone. The player guarding him rarely left to help on D. They were not going to give him an open look. Even Cat5 was shooting a free throw and Sibert was at the other end of the floor, they had someone tagging him. Jordan also took a shot to the head in the first half. No call. Hopefully his arm/hand/wrist is OK. He didn't look like he was in extreme pain, but also never let go of the injury as he got up and left the floor.
Spearman had a neck issue of some kind. The TBT medical person checked him out multiple times.
I don't know what was up with Thompson. He got mugged a couple times early in the game. The way Cat5 was spreading the floor and shooting, match-ups were an issue.
At one point, Mikesell was bleeding from his elbow.
Devon Scott took an elbow to the jaw in the middle of the floor seen by everyone in the gym except the 3 officials. I have no idea how that didn't get called.
I respect and appreciate Gruden and Bonsu for putting the team together and trying to get the best size and talent possible, but my impressions of Devon Scott as a basketball player have not changed. Not impressed.

If you have a Flyer ticket account, check your email. I just received an email for up to 4 free tickets to Tuesday nights TBT Finals.
