What's wrong with Lauren? She missed a free throw today, 7-8.

There wasnt anything redeeming about that performance other than Cannatelli. Another 40 minutes, another brick-building project. We shot 35% from the field and had 12 assists to 20 turnovers against a 7-14 opponent.
Not only cant we shoot, we have no idea what a good shot is. Flinging the basketball at the basket, unbalanced, off one foot, fading to the side, side-armed, is not a quality shot. Its not a good shot from 15ft and its certainly not a good shot from 2ft. We refuse to want to square up to the basket, set ourselves, put our body into the shot, take some contact, and follow through with form. For every one good shot we take, we attempt two horse shots. Thats why you shoot mid-30% most games. This team once again held their opponent to anemic shooting. Our D remains good enough to be an NCAA at-large tourney team. But our offense is on pace to be the worst shooting team in UD WBB history (I looked it up).
But, we did get the W. Better than the alternative. But I dont see this team playing Maryland or South Carolina to a 10pt game again right now.

Chris, the failings you point out are things that players can be taught to do or not to do. The operative word is "taught". That's what coaches are paid for.

Attendance at Kingston
The attendance at the URI game was listed as 365. I've been to Kingston to see women's games and that about what they draw.
We are drawing between 1500 and 2500 fans typically. That's Dayton!
We have the potential to be a Top 25 program....everything is in place. One thing that may not yet be consistent with Top 25 aspirations is the pressure required to excel. Pressure on the coaches and players. That pressure surely exists for the men...and should for the women as well.
This is Dayton....not Kingston!
Go Flyers!

It's a win but in past years even clearing the bench in the fourth period it would have been a 30 point win. Winning the conference will take some doing on the road (VCU, Duquesne, Fordham) while the only home game vs a top team is Davidson.
