Dates are being posted as various schools finalize their schedules. Our opening opponent for 2012 has great ambitions for their program....

Our other OOC games are thought to be at Duquesne and hosting Robert Morris. We should have an all Division I schedule in 2012!

UD has not released its schedule at this point but the PL is putting it together based on schedules released by our opponents. That is, Robert Morris has us on the schedule for September 15 so the PL website has them added to our schedule on that date.

Looking back over the last 3 years of 10 teams, you play 8 games and skip 1 team. In 09 and 10, the team you skipped was the same. Of the 4 teams that have their schedules listed for 2012, they all have the same skipped team from 2011. Therefore, I presume that Campbell is our skipped team in 2012. As well, they also flip-flop the home-away.

Doing a process of elimination of that site that DF posted, here are possible Pioneer matchups for Dayton:

9/15 - Davidson or Jacksonville
9/22 - Butler, Jacksonville
9/29 - Butler or Valparaiso
10/6 - Butler, Davidson or Valparaiso
10/20 - Davidson or Valparaiso
11/17 - Butler

So, 6 open weeks, one bye, and 4 conference games. The 9/15 game will probably be a non-Pioneer game looking at the other league members schedules. (Dartmouth, Old Dominion, Indiana State, Columbia, St Francis PA, Harvard and Duquesne that week)

So, since 9/15 is probably a non-Pioneer game, Jacksonville has to be 9/22 at home.

Since we had a bye on the last week last year, I say we don't this year, therefore, 11/17 is @ Butler. (If that happens, everyone plays that last week.)

So that leaves @Davidson, (H)Valparaiso and a bye week for 9/29, 10/6, and 10/20.

We shall see how good I was.

On the PFL team that is skipped, it is always a 2-year deal, i.e. home & away.

You are right about 9/15 being a non-conf opponent - try RMU.

That was pretty bogus last season having an off week last. That's not an off week; the season ended the previous week. Hope there is a real off week during the schedule this time.

A little birdie (with a good arm) filled me in on the away game schedule way back in October, but I don't think I should post it publicly. I can say that Figgie is for sure incorrect with the 11/17 guess. I will also say that the away dates are 9/1,9/8,10/6,10/27 and 11/10. Sorry I can't divulge more, but my contacts and trust with the football department are more important to me than UDPride. LOL!

Unless something has changed since October, your schedule is incorrect. We played Davidson at home last year, so we are on the road for that game. Your games for 9/29 and 10/6 are incorrect according to the schedule I was given. I will be following up with my source tomorrow when I inquire about the Spring practice schedule.

Okay, let's play this game.

If we don't play Butler on 11/17, then it has to be non conference. Jacksonville @ Drake, Marist @ Campbell, Valpo @ Morehead and San Diego @ Davidson are all announced. That leaves Dayton and Butler.

As for road games, 9/1 is Illinois State, 9/8 is Duquesne, 10/27 is San Diego and 11/10 is Marist. That still leaves Butler and Davidson as road games this year. So, put one on 10/6, are we dropping the other road game?

Great Stuff! Here is what I came into this morning. Last night this was not filled out. I got off at 0200 this morning. Now, at 0800 here is the schedule.

Looks right. Butler's schedule has been finalized (Link). Therefore, Jacksonville would have to be 9/22. Using the 10/6 as a "confirmed" road game, would be Davidson, and the last open date of 10/20 would go to Valpo.

What fun here for a day or so. The PFL gods must have been anxious too for a schedule and now we even know what time of day they operate! I had internet-connect problems last night & didn't get post in the competition. Then Duke played basketball & my night was shot.

Seems like a good schedule with fine out of conf. teams finally.

IMO a bye is not a bye when it occurs after the season is over. Obviously neither Butler or Dayton wanted a week off at the end of Sept. Wonder if high school playoffs has something to do about this at both schools?
