A frog got stuck on the highway what did the frog call? A toad truck. Anyway, young STL team getting better or so I thought before they got blown out by Rhode Island. Watch Frantz long range shooting and the others to watch are Flowers and Harbison.

41-33 SLU at quarter 3 media timeout. Flyers laying an egg. This one is really tough to watch.

45-38 SLU end of 3. Flyers shooting 25%. SLU shooting 51%. Ouch.

Wow! Scaife with 15 but none in the 2nd half. Dayton shooting only 27%? A Jekyll and Hyde team this year.

And with all our doom and gloom Dayton ties at 50 and we go to OT. Dennis hits the shot at 3.3 left in regulation.

Gotta win a game when your shooting is putrid. Didn't know the Billiken mascot was scary??? Also, never thought it looked like an elf.

It's good to see that Dennis isn't chucking 3s like she did earlier in her time at UD.

Dennis with a point blank rebound and misses everything by shooting it all the way over the rim for a shot clock violation. Wow

Phillip's committed fouls and a turnover. Plus ill advised 3 point shots down the stretch of the second ot when we had a lead. That and 25% FG shooting kept us from winning this game

The really interesting thing is that you could shoot 25%, go to triple OT and only lose by 3.
I couldn't watch, but looking at stats, seems like a lot of missed opportunities.

Just sad, I know this isn't a particularly good UD team but the league is AWFUL and at this point I have no confidence they will win it.

We only had 6 turnovers in 55 minutes. We had 22 offensive boards. Those are remarkable stats. We lost because we could not shoot straight (24.7%)- many of them point blank layups or wild off-balance attempts.
Bradshaw - 0-2
Ward - 1-7
Chandler - 1-5
Cannatelli - 3-13
Phillips - 0-3
Wilmoth - 0-1
Fowler - 6-19
Scaife - 7-24
Dennis - 2-11
Giacone - 2-4

Listening to Alex on radio there were some questionable calls by the officials - I start to wonder does the A-10 get quality officials because every game it seems it's an issue and not just against UD. Nobody will ever honestly be able to give me an answer to that.

That was painful. Not sure I have ever seen a more bizarre set of stats. Including ft's, you get 112 shots at the bucket and only score 65 points. Seems as if their is a contagious lack of confidence in the whole team's shooting.

The bigs just plain can't finish. And that goes for many of the plays especially in OT.
Not sure why Shauna Green seems to keep putting chandler to start the game. First play drawn up for her and she can't finish. Dennis is hands down the better defender than ward or chandler but offense isn't consistant.

**** officials. They must have caused us to miss 67 ( yes 67, I’m not making this up) shots! We missed 9 more shots than they took! Something has to change!! We stink.

Not only upset but let everyone players and assistants alike know how she felt. Even when plays were drawn up they simply couldn't execute. Sitting behind the players bench I heard her use every biblical term but not in a theological way.
This loss could keep them even out of WNIT. Got to win the whole enchalada.
Loss can be summed up "inability to finish".

Shauna came unglued on the 5 sec call but the ref right in front of her Saud I didn't call it. Once you see a ref move his haND in counting mode you know you got to get rid of it....but if you don't see that motion then he's not counting.

The ref that made the call was behind all players so no one was aware a ref started counting.
Noise wad a big factor in what nay have been a record shot clock violations. Players had hard time hearing coaches. One time fowler actually cupped her hand over her ear while looking at the bench.
SLU was smart in turning up the noise when we had the ball, especially in OT. But the game was winnable. Couldn't hold the 5pt lead in 2nd OT.
So our 4th qtr woes have expanded to end of game woes.

Cannatelli moves into #21 all time scoring with 1131 -- needs 63 to reach #20 Amber Deane (1194).
Only five more opportunities to watch this Flyer at UD Arena.

Since the 05-06 season, they eclipsed their high mark for FGA's with their 89. Previously, 88 against Penn State in 2010, but made 37 of them, though losing 112-107.

GW beat previously undefeated VCU and Duquesne won by four at La Salle. Who is good in this conference? Certainly not St. Joseph's who lost to Richmond last night.

In the post-game video comments Green said she tried to call a timeout before the five second call but it wasn't granted -- so it seems at least she was aware a ref was counting.

I thought coaches could no longer call timeouts in live ball situations?

One of the more annoying issues with HS reffing is when the ball and players hit the floor and fight for a loose ball. Inevitably, both coaches will jump up screaming 'TIME OUT' which only causes problems because it's darn near impossible to determine possession with 6-8 arms all over the ball. The NCAA realized this and took away the ability of a coach to call for a time out during live-ball situations which allows the refs to focus on the contact and dual possession as opposed to 2 screaming idiots and who yelled what first when who had possession for a split second.
Since then, the NCAA relaxed the rules to allow coaches to call live-ball time outs only during a throw-in situation.
I wish OHSAA would adopt a similar rule because you can expect anywhere from 3 - 12 loose-ball/jump-ball situations per game depending on boys/girls and age/talent.
