BEVERLY HILLS (MI) -- Some tidbits to chew on:
-- With BG on the prowl for immediate help at PG, here are links to a pair of columnists who will help keep you up-to-date on the 2 main PG targets:
For JC PG Jeremie Simmons, look to Jared Field of the
Flint Journal:
http://blog.mlive.com/flintjournal/h...omas_kenn.html
For HS PG Tyshwan Edmundson, count on Jody Demling of the
Louisville Courier-Journal:

Gee,
DDN Sports Editor Brian Kollars, imagine that -- a blog devoted exclusively to
recruiting...what a novel concept! Why don't you put Chick Ludwig on it right away.
-- Another source of info regarding Simmons' recruitment is Brian Stinette of ChicagoHoops.com. Here is his latest update on Jeremie:
http://www.chicagohoops.com/articles1/simmonsapr1.html
Stinette also posted the following in a more recent column:
"Valparaiso is very much in the picture for former Chicago Von Steuben star Jeremie Simmons of two-time defending NJCAA Division II national champion Mott Community College. Thad Matta, and Ohio State, are also now involved."
-- It's never too early for ESPN.com's Joe Lunardi to post his Bracketology for the 2009 NCAA Tournament, which is a mere 40-something weeks away:

The good news is, that St. Joe Joe has the Flyers making the Big Dance, albeit as one of the "Last Four In."
-- Some dipstick on the IU and UK MBs is trying awfully hard to create the rumor that
Chris Wright is looking to transfer from UD. There was a thread about it on the UD Pride MB and Chris wisely shut it down, as well as another thread that was an inane discussion on the finer qualities of Kenny Frease, led by X trolls. Who cares?
-- Speaking of transfers, I'm still trying to figure out why Scott Martin is checking out from Purdue after only one season. Mayhaps he got tired of playing in Robbie Hummel's shadow? After all, the two played both HS and AAU ball together before enrolling at West Lafayette.
-- Michael Beasley and OJ Mayo are leaving for the NBA after one year...was there ever any doubt?
-- "The Hometown Coach" will be co-anchoring ESPNU's coverage on hoops signing day April 16th. Hey BG, hurry up and sign Jeremie Simmons so Mark can give UD a shout out on the show. Details are here:

-- BRob didn't hurt his chances of making the NBA with his performance in Portsmouth. Wonder if he'll be invited to the Chicago version?
That's it "From the Swamp."
