Effort wasn’t horrible tonight. Execution was. The announcers were correct in pointing out that Dayton didn’t play to its advantage by pounding it inside more. Obi and Josh both should have finished with 20+.

We are mediocre. 4 conference wins (3 of them squeakers by the way) are against teams whose combined conference record is 6-17. Just flat out mediocre. In my 35 years as a fan, about 2/3 of those years we have pretty much sucked. We deserve better as fans.

Especially when both starting guards are cold.

Whoa! Tommy. Don’t make me send someone to pull you off the ledge. Crutcher has many great games ahead of him in a Flyer uni. Jordan was bound to go cold again at some point. Cohill actually had a nice night. These are solid A10 guards.

Lost in first half... several wide open looks ... miss foul shots at game end. Overall out hustled and the guards had no juice... well to be expected... struggled to beat bad teams ... lazy offense let’s just shot 3s.... this is a very bad loss in the goal to be a top 4...lazy effort...

This is still a young team- next year this happens, i’d agree with you. We have some horses coming in next year. Trust me, it’ll be a different story year 3. This was just a poor performance all around nobody shot it. Foul shots in practice need to be a priority

I hope you are right...but if this crappy form of mediocrity continues, it will be time to make changes. I am not optimistic. I hope I am wrong, but the combination of play and coaching tonight was horrible.

Both have shown signs of greatness, but there have been too many games when their games are in the crapper.

Downright awful. UD launches 27 treys. Why? And then the obligatory unable to close in crunch time...

I don't get it. Josh, Obi, Ryan shoot 15/19. Jordan and Jalen shoot 5/26. It seems we have a failure to communicate.

yes, but Mason started double and even triple teaming the post daring us to shoot behind the arc. Davis and Crutcher 4-19 treys.

This drove me nuts all through the second half. Obi would have the ball at the left elbow, kick it to the left wing, and flash down the left side of the lane. But then, instead of turning and camping on the left block to receive an entry pass, he’d see if a feed was coming from the wing and, if it wasn’t, he keep right on going, along the baseline and toward the right corner. I didn’t say this at the game, but I was thinking, “You’re 6 foot freaking 9! Camp out; receive the pass; drop step into the lane; and shoot that baby hook!” That opportunity was there at least 3 or 4 times, and I bet he’d have only missed 1 of those 3 or 4. And we lost by 4.

Yep, they triple-dog-dared us to hit an outside shot, and we wound up with our tongues stuck to the flagpole.

You’d have trouble winning in a rec league with that kind of performance, let alone in mid/high D-I.

I think what he as done with this group of players is actually pretty good. Amazed they have won 12 games. They as we have seen can’t beat a good team. But they are competitive and hang around in every game . Only 7 guys and very poor on defense. Watch us play ... almost no defections and against decent teams we Don’t make key stops going all the way back to Miss State game. We are fortunate that the conference has given us Richmond /Gw/ Bonnie/ UMass early in the season add up ther records and it’s clear that we have a tough road ahead. Simply an Average team with no depth . We have with this group been in every game credit the staff. Nice kids , it’s nice that they like each other but they don’t have that edge that Scoochie/Kyle/Kendall had . Not great players but assains... this group .... nice kids who don’t get it. Little soul searching to do .... tough road ahead . Complain about the offense go watch the tape . Wide open looks , missed foul shots and layups all nite and outbhustled on 50/50 balls. Just not a tough group ... you can’t give kids passion ... they have to have it, you can ignite It but this group lacks passion feel bad for Anthony.

The thing is eventually once we bust teams up inside, they are going to collapse and force UD to shoot 3s.
You have to be able to knock them down... we were getting wide open 3's all night. They weren't contested garbage 3's at the end of the shot clock. That's just on the players.

There's a reason we got wide open 3's. They couldn't stop us down low when we got the ball there. We settled for most of our 3 point looks, it wasn't because the defense forced us.
