This game put the ugly in the beautiful game. Jack Steele was in goal today and not Barrios - not sure why.
Steele gets undercut by a
UMass player while going for a ball in the first half. The ref swallowed his whistle. While Steele was on the ground, play continued and UMass scored. Flyers were irate and tempers flared. For the rest of the game, play was more than chippy. The ref was on the verge of losing control of the game. There were 6 yellows handed out and 38 fouls called during the match. Both sides were carping all match.
Flyers tie it up in the 70th minute on a low worm-burner by Harryson that slipped through a wall of defenders.
Game goes into OT and Degler drives a ball off a defender and into the net for the game winner with 53 seconds left in the 2nd OT.
Huge and needed win for the Flyers as their A-10 tournament hopes have been hanging by a thread.
