BEVERLY HILLS (MI) -- Normally, like most out-of-town Dayton fans Mrs. Swampy and I will tune to whatever cable network is carrying the Flyer tilt and watch it in real time. For the past couple of games, that hasn't been possible, but the Red and Blue were able to come thru without us. On Tuesday, we were in Aruba and obviously the hotel didn't get CBS Sports Network. I pulled up the Live Stats on DaytonFlyers.com and UD was up something like 21-7 on
SLU at that point. I only checked back a few times to make sure nothing crazy happened...and it didn't. Today for the
SBU contest we were immersed in a home improvement project and were still working on it when the DVR started recording the end of the previous Davidson/
UMass game at 2:00 pm.
We decided to take advantage of the 67 degree weather and hop into the convertible and head to Wood Pile BBQ for a late lunch/early dinner. The game was over by the time we got home so we fired it up and started watching. It sure is nice to be able to fast forward thru the commercials! Unfortunately, Mr. Technowiz had not set it to record past 4:00 pm, so we missed the last 6 minutes or so of action. Again, the Flyers prevailed.
Watching a recorded game is far from a stress-free experience (unless you know the outcome in advance) but I do recommend it as a way to minimize the agita vs. viewing in real time. Don't forget to DVR beyond the scheduled end-time, tho!

A-10 Talk.com submits their list of Atlantic 10 top POY candidates by position and Charles is on it as a small forward:

After his performance vs. UD on Saturday, no one here should have any beef about Jaylen Adams making this list as the PG over Scoochie.

NCAA.com has their own list, that of potential NCAA tournament teams that few are talking about and UD is one of 'em:

I would add a sixth:
Did you know the Arena collapsed during its construction?
I sure do, as I rode past the crumpled girders in The Blue Goose from West Campus my freshman year shortly after it happened.

C'mon Jon Rothstein -- if you're gonna write an article about Josh Cunningham returning to action for the Flyers, can you make sure the picture they use is of him in a
Dayton uni?

NBC Sports Network color analyst and Chicago guy Dave Kaplan threw out the name "Mark Giangreco" when listing UD grads during the SBU game. Those with long memories will remember him as "Mark Greco" on WING-AM in Dayton in the mid-seventies. Mark never worked at WVUD but he played for the infamous 'VUD Burnouts softball team.

After the finish of that VCU/

"The Scary Tweet of the Week" eminated overseas from former Flyer Devin Oliver:
"If you have a min, please say a prayer for me. Injured my knee badly tonight, MRI in the morning. Believing in God's plan for me regardless!"
Thankfully, it turns out that DMO only has "some minor trauma, some effusion and overuse."
