My understanding is that ACC, Pac12, B1G, SEC, B12, AAC and Big East all do not permit partial qualifiers so there could very easily be players who have committed but suddenly find themselves free agents with few option as they cannot be admitted to the school at which they committed. This is an area that Dayton could very easily capitalize by admitting a partial qualifier.

One guy I mentioned previously, Latravian Glover, a very highly-regarded OK State commit from Miami is rumored to be looking at JUCO options. But if he is close and falls in that partial qualifier zone, it would not surprise me at all to see Dayton pounce there.
I could be wrong on this but I believe Ricky Ledo was a partial qualifier and went to Providence for a year so I'm not sure if the Big East has that as a rule.

Ok, found official policies for majority of conferences. Big East requires a non qualifier to have ncaa waiver. I believe the A10 does not require any waiver as a matter of admitting them. http://www.thekeyplay.com/content/20...t-do-they-mean

When Ledo was at Providence I think the Big East was taking them in without question. Xavier fans IIRC weren't happy about losing out on the ability to take those guys when the new Big East formed

Technically, there is no such thing as a partial qualifier now. As it is a non-qualifier. But Monty was a partial qualifier when they were still called partial qualifiers.

You are correct. Partial qualifiers are now called academic redshirts. It is essentially the same thing, but they reworded this a few years back to clear things up. But academic redshirts follow the same idea as the partial qualifier.

Interesting. Does appear that door has closed for him. May not want to risk waiting if he really likes Dayton since we only have one left to give? He's got offers from Illinois, Georgia, Miss State, St Bona and Fordham among others though. I know the Illinois offer came in just days before his Dayton visit. They have plenty of scholarships open... 3 I believe.

The recruit, Ryan Preston happens to be a wide body (6'7" 235 lbs) out of Brooklyn, NY. Why can't we get one like that? The only bulk we have is JCun and he appeared much thinner at the end of the season.

Jordan Pierce would fit the mold. Listed at 6'10" 245# and/or bigger on several sites.

The final day of signing for 2017 recruits is Wednesday so we should know soon if Toppin is even considering UD, or the other way around.

Wouldn't hurt to have another. I personally would like another PG or combo guard, but wouldn't complain about landing a big body. Once Cunningham graduates we're thin down there outside of Pierce. You could count Miller but he isn't really a back to the basket bruiser or a shot blocker.

If X-man puts on as muscle this offseason as he did last offseason, he'll be yoked, may even put rollo to shame.

I mean there's lots of wide bodies in Brooklyn. How wide are you looking for exactly?

I would love to find out next October that X has put on some 17 lbs. over the summer.

We had one a few years ago and allowed him to leave after he single handily ate Taco Bell and Chipotle out of their food inventory. What became of that guy?

The Browns drafted a guy this year who was 6' and 350 pounds in the 8th grade. His mother feared that he would die in his sleep he was so heavy. They forced him to start working out and to play football and now he looks like a beast with muscles rippling everywhere.

I wish someone had done that with big des and know that bg and the people here put forth a lot of effort make that happen

Same story on Caleb Swanigan from Purdue, about to be a millionaire. He was 6'2" and 360 in eight grade. His dad died at 6'8" and 500 lbs.

*8min ago Eric Bossi from verbal commits.com announced Duke signed 5 star point guard, Trevon Duval. That's okay, the Flyers got Jalen Crutcher and like him very much!

Hoping for much improvement from John Crosby, as well! Just happy that we now have two PG's whereas two weeks ago we had zero!
