The Flyers got out of that arena with a win...finally! Scoochie carried this team in the second half. Charles' two big threes late in the game sparked them.

I know he missed those last two free throws, but Scoochie Smith's second-half effort was outstanding. It feels like it's been a while since a UD play put the team on his back and willed them to a win.

He had a couple good games early in the season, but for the most part Scoochie has been MIA this year. We REALLY need him to play like last night the rest of the way. Been waiting for it to show up. We all know he has it. One had to wonder if there wasn't a nagging injury or something. Just glad he had a huge night. I think he is the biggest key to our success in the post-season.

Amen. Schoochie can take over a game when he wants to. May have been his best game as a Flyer. He has to keep his intensity on both ends. His defense at times is so lazy. He left his man open about 5 times, but then most other times wears him like a skin suit. And by open, I mean he was lounging 15 feet away. He absolutely carried the team in the second half, and then at the end misses two free throws, and loses his man on a dribble drive, so he fouls him for a 3 pt play. A 5 point swing.
Good to see him ask for the ball in the last two minutes.

Just as a casual stat observer , we likely win every game Scoochie has EITHER
a) over 5 assists
b) over 15 to 16 points
He's been stuck at 8 points and like 2 or 3 assists the past 7 or 8 games (average).
Scoring 20 ups our odds of winning tremendously.
More assists also means Pierre, KP, Cooke, DD and all are getting their touches

his personality appears quite laid back generally. WE CANNOt have that persona leading the team.
The SS from last night is the guy we have all bought into, love and come to expect from the end of his freshman year. Guys got talent.
Just needs to stay focused and determined!

My wife, who is not a huge basketball fan, made some interesting comments at the game last night. She said why is Scoochie so casual out there, and he passes the ball like he doesn't care. Another time near the end of the first half she commented that it appears Dayton has no leader out there, just five guys running around for themselves. Keep in mind she never reads these threads and watches little Flyer basketball.
