GW game
Very important game as UD has the toughest final 4 games. Nationally televised on ESPNU and can be streamed on ESPN watch.
GW has easiest final 4 games. SLU has 3 games left, last one at UD.

19-12 GDub end of qtr 1. Bad bad start for Flyers. Up and down game. Flyers with 5 turnovers. Finally got some things going late in qtr. Need some attitude out there.

30-15 GDub at the half. Dayton scores 3 points in quarter. SGA had to sit with 2 fouls and NOBODY else could do squat. 10 turnovers. We just look terrible. We are shooting 20%.

Harris rushing it under basket. Missed too many points in paint. Outhustled, poor shooting, just a bad half all around.

On couple possessions SGA last person down the court, out of shape or just dogging it. Either way need come out with energy and purpose. 20 min, let's see what there made of.

Why pick on her, show me anyone who is making a shot. Shut down Kelley and Lauren and make everyone else beat you.

Not a total shock after watching them struggle on Wednesday. Jenna is so important to this offense because there are a limited number of players who can create and finish

Really disappointed with Kelley game today, turnovers and not taking a shot. She is open enough to shoot but won't

Burdette wouldn't have made a difference today, she can't make those missed baskets in the paint.
And LC isn't the problem she played well.

Unfortunately, nobody stepped up today to take control of this game. Lots of missed opportunities. The Flyers are beating the Flyers today.

I don't agree that she's not trying. I think she's just not comfortable running the offense -- just not in her nature.

She was open enough for her to at least take a shot, she and Lauren are parimeter shooters. Lauren tried to drive in the lane, that's not her game.

Kelley has said she isn't comfortable playing point guard even though she has the best handles after Jenna.
I thought the announcer summed it up very well in the 4th quarter when asked about whether Jenna would have made a difference. He basically said that it would allow Kelley to play her normal game of coming off screens. But then he added that you also have to make layups, you need shot makers.
it is amazing that without the careless turnovers this could have been a close game. The defense is good enough to beat everyone in the A10 but it is doubtful they can keep that up three games in a row. that is when easy offense is good to have and nothing is coming easy on offense even with Jenna

Problem was Kelley was not running point when she had open shots an didn't take them. You have to try knowing our post players are bigger and should get rebound. Knock off just 5 to and make half our misses in the paint and it's a different ball game an possibly outcome. Every one knows Kelley doesn't like to play point but she is the next man up and has to do it.
Thought LC was basically only one really trying, just not her strong points. Needs to hit those treys an leave driving up to KA and company.

So and so dogging it or not trying. That's absurd to make that statement from a tv game. The play that typified the game was Layfield bringing the ball down court and she dribbles it off her knee. Bad game enough said.

Got to give credit to GW, they really had UD scouted well today. It was a must win for them. Even with the win they are still a game back. GW should win out and finish 13-3. Dayton should do no worse than 13-3 as well and more than likely with SLU at home finish 14-2. SLU would most likely finish 12-4 unless thay defeat Dayton at Dayton.
That would give UD and GW both byes. UD desperately needs a bye. Hopefully this game was an anomaly with the missed points in the paint.
Jenna could be back by SLU game.
Games remaining:
Dayton
Duquesne

SLU
GW
Bonnies

Should UD lose to SLU giving all three teams a 13-3 record does anyone know the tie breaker. Dayton would have split with both GW (which they did) and SLU (which hopefully they don't).
Need Figgie123 on this one.

I think if Kelley was guilty of anything it might be trying too hard to create for her teammates. I might tell to look for her shot first and pass second. She can hit that little pull up if she gets half a step. Maybe try to work her with layfield on the same side
The opposing defenses are denying open shots right now because the Flyers can't break down the defense. That won't be the case when Jenna is playing next to Kelley. Lauren was driving because they were right in her face and she didn't have much choice. This definitely takes her out of her comfort zone.
Hope to be at the next game to see Kelley set another career high

Believe first tiebreaker is head to head, we would be 2-2, GW would be 1-2, and SLU would be 2-1, Advantage Billikens.

I'm a huge Kelley fan so could be right about trying too hard, besides Shauna more then likely wanted them to go inside with our height advantage and higher percentage shots. Just put em in the basket.
Loss wasn't unexpected, the way they plaid was. Sweep last 3 games an were ok, in like flint.

At the time she was ZERO for EIGHT! Most shots of anyone . Oh and fwiw, she's has a tragically bad fgp-%33 ! Didn't help but she took no more shots after my post as maybe Shauna took notice. What's the point if you can't make any.
She has the raw tools to be a good player, speed, hops, aggression, etc., but so far she looks a little too much like Edwards, who also had a "me first " mindset. Hopefully coach can rein her in.

She apparently is hitting those shots in practice an since she seems to be the only one who can create her shots Shauna is giving her the green light.
If she can put it all together she will be a valuable asset. Much work to do, in progress.

the 1st round game would be played at home almost a week before the final 8 if I understand the schedule. if that is true it isnt a really big deal it might be best to play the most difficult team in the 2nd game rather than the third game
But you reallllyyy want them to finish no worse than a tie for first.
