Davidson Game Thread
I think I can report with great confidence the Davidson game Wednesday night WILL be played. Davidson has been off due to "health and safety protocols" since January 1st and they've had A-10 games against La Salle and Richmond declared "no contest." On the court, the players to watch are Sutphin and Rose Deegan.

A big loss for Davidson tonight - Chloe Welsh is in a walking boot - got hurt at the end of the Fordham game - tough inside player not available for awhile. Anyway, about 6:45 radio1660.com have a good nine minute pre game interview with the Davidson Coach so tune in if you can especially since if watching - coverage on ESPN + doesn't come on until 7:00.

I think things would have been different for us if Smith had been available all season. She plays D, she passes well, can score and rebound.
Lets finish this game off!
Go Flyers!

No sympathy for Davidson's short-handed rotation tonight -- thats been Dayton all season. Good job of closing this one out. We probably fouled that 3-pt shooter late however and got away with it. Thats how you lose games. But we played smart by shoving the in-bounds passes to Destiny where she's money at the line all year.
The league probably feels like we're the best 3-win team in the country. We aren't great. But we've played a lot of teams close and had all the breaks gone our way unlike nearly all of them going against us, we'd be close to .500. Given the thin talent level, depth, and experience I think its safe to say we're better than our record indicates. We're clearly down and rebuilding but I don't feel like we cant hang in games against anyone in the A10. Just a matter of whether we keep the TOs down and make plays in the 4th Qtr.

Yes 13 turnovers feels like a moral victory - excellent defense on the top two Davidson players Sutphin and Deegan - I think they can be in every game other than UMASS (see Sam Breen) but tonight was encouraging and great to have 1900 - this is a basketball town - for example St. Joseph's is in first place - last night their crowd (if you can call it that) 329. No misprint.
