The Gophers were behind at the half in both their prior Old Spice games and came back. They were the likely "favorite" in this tournament and I want to see them behind at the end in this game.
Archie against Tubby will be interesting. I will go with Archie.
Go Flyers!

I'm wagering that Minn didn't see defense like that in their first two games. Of course, we haven't either. Our help defense was smothering.

This was the best half of basketball we've played all year. It is going to take an equally good half to finish off a very good win. I hope Archie is remind the guys that Minnesota came from behind at the half twice to get to the championship game.
C'mon Flyers! let's bring this one home!

Agree and wish I could hear Archie. The second half may be Archie v. Tubby. It will be interesting.

This team can play on both ends and rebound, but the best thing is they did not back down or get intimidated. Minn came out very physical and intimidating the first ten minutes, but our guys kept their composure and kept playing their game plan. Win or lose, I am impressed.

Gophers are 13-24 from the field right now. Not comfortable with forcing turnovers the rest of the game to hold them down.

We can't keep fouling. We gotta play smart defense. A couple of dumb fouls can shrink this lead in a hurry. What's wrong with dillard? They said he headed to the locker room?

good free throw shooting and our stats kill theirs.
our 84 team was a great foul shooting team, and i think this one is ahead of that however early in the year.
great ball movement, just exciting year ahead of us. This is how ball is played.

Dillard: Double double, player of game and tourney MVP. What makes this so sweet is the trauma we felt last spring wondering if Dillard could fill a gap. Well, he more than fills it. Gotta love him.

Tubby isn't going to want to face UD again, no matter who he's coaching. Wasn't the last time he faced us when we beat UK in Cincy back in '99?

Not to continue to , but do you think that would have happened with our last coaching staff? I have my doubts.

Great win!
My head was in my hands when we were down about 20-10 early. We were missing and they were muscling it into the paint and making things look too easy at the rim. Then we got a couple of shots blocked and I thought, here is where things fall apart - here is where we start with the excuses - 3 games in 4 days - big bad big 10 vs pretenders - downward spiral...
And then, somehow, the Flyers manned up and showed the Gophers they were not going to let themselves be pushed around. Lazy passes changed to crisp passes, people started moving and spacing, a few threes went down and suddenly I could sense the Gophers started to panic.
The Flyers had 5 men on the court who were all dangerous, all experienced, and were working together with confidence. Man, that's magic.
It was sad that Mbakwe went down when he did. He looks like a pro. I hope he recovers quickly.
But I think even if he had not got hurt the Flyers had this game under control. An engine running smooth on all 5 cylinders, make that 6 with Archie.
This is going to continue to be a fun year.

The current Michigan coach refuses to refer to the Buckeyes as Ohio State, and many fans now do the same. Same way Woody Hayes refused to refer to UM as anything but the school up north.
