Thanks...So Long...and Go Flyers
All: First, my wife and I wanted to thank those of you that reached out with well wishes for Alex. Unfortunately, it's not good news. He tore his ACL and his FB career has come to an abrupt end.
While he's definitely disappointed, he's handling it quite well (better than his parents), and he's committed to being the best Asst. Coach possible the rest of the season. After that, he'll be on to his next chapter. It's impossible to express how proud we are of the man he has become, and we're incredibly excited to see the great things he will accomplish going forward. We're also enormously grateful for all of the support he's received and all of the fantastic people we've met along the way.
The good news is that the Flyers are in great hands with young Mr. Cook and the rest of the QBs. We're excited to see what they and the rest of the team can do this season. We won't be at all of the games, but we'll definitely be watching and cheering on the Flyers.
As for UDPride, this likely will be my last post. While I've thoroughly enjoyed interacting with everyone over the past few years, I think I'll just be a "lurker" from this point forward.
Go Flyers!

My thoughts and prayers for a healthy recovery to Alex. I wish nothing but the best for him and you and your family. We will miss seeing Alex play and the leadership he brings. However, his attitude and leadership skills will make him very successful in his next chapter of life.
I want to thank you FlyerIllini for all of your posts and information. As a huge Flyer Football fan in Columbus, it is always good to get on here and read your positive notes and news.
Alex is always a Flyer and will be remembered for all the good qualities he has and brought to the Flyer Family and Faithful. You and your wife should be proud of him and who he has become.
My daughter is still going to try to get a picture with him after a game if he is there and will. She sends along her wishes for him to get better. Peace be with you all!
Go Flyers!

Tough way to end a career but just another one of the many lessons that athletics teaches us about dealing with adversity and continuing to move forward. Best of luck for a complete and speedy recovery.

Alex was a very good QB for the Flyers. I wish him a full and speedy recovery. He and his family are a class act who represent the Flyers so well.

As one of Alex's best friends, I am proud to say he is one of the greatest to put on a Dayton uniform. Injury is never easy, especially in the situation it occurred with him, but he has so much to be proud of. From being doubted, to making a name for himself, to help win a PFL championship, to being one of the best Dayton quarterbacks ever... his accomplishments are too many to count. I am so proud of my former teammate and best friend. Can't wait to see what the future holds!

FlyerIllini - I do hope you stop by these parts from time to time. You always provided insight and thoughtful posts - a most valuable commodity on a fan website. Your postings were very reminiscent of another poster on this board - Flyer Gramps. Like you, he also had a very close relationship to a pretty darn good Flyer QB. He still lurks and once in a while will post. I hope you will do the same.
