Game Recap:

We did managed to knock the ball around ON THE GROUND much better than we have in past matches. Even if it was only for a half or so, that was good to see. The better team ultimately won and it would have taken a heroic night from us and a complete
SLU train wreck for us to get a W tonight.
SLU demonstrated our biggest weakness -- the severe lack of speed and athleticism at almost every position on the field. Other than Pestell (and maybe Kamphaus or Kellett) there's no one that throws even a small scare into opponents and forces the opposition to hear footsteps. We are a step slow at almost every position -- nevermind technical ability. Golz can work on technical ability in practice, but theres not a thing he can do about jets or lack thereof.
The fast players -- even means they are ahead. For elite speed, one step behind means they are ahead. We lack both.
