BEVERLY HILLS (MI) -- Well, another Dayton Flyers Men’s Basketball season is in the books and already the off-season is, well, “off” to a flying start! The announcement on Thursday that Archie’s contract has been extended (for the 2nd year in a row, mind you) until the turn of the next century is a well-deserved, well-timed, strategic move by Director of Athletics
Tim Wabler. Let’s face it kids, sooner or later a plum head coaching position is gonna open up and Archie will be gone, but this move makes it clear that should this occur, it will be later rather than sooner. The current job market -- the hot mess that is Tennessee, DePaul, Texas, St. John's, the possible opening at IU, etc. -- are not the kind to make Archie’s eye wander. However, a job vacancy on the order of Arizona that convinced brother Sean to hit the highway is only a matter of time.
In the meantime, welcome to the off-season:

-- Archie named the 4 returning starters -- Scoochie, Kyle, Kendall and Dyshawn -- as captains for next season (as opposed to last year when the team voted for them). Congratulations, guys!
-- Love this Vine of Scoochie “being shot by a sniper” during the Oklahoma game. Unfortunately for him, the ref wasn’t buying what he was selling:

-- I am shocked --
shocked I tell you -- to hear that Detwon Rogers is transferring! In other news, the sky is blue and water is wet. Hats off to UD Pride MB poster “CSI Booster” for providing the definitive answer to the mystery wrapped in an enigma surrounded by a question mark that was the non-UD career of Detwon Rogers with this post:
Unfortunately, a guy from Detwon's past, the despicable, Rasputin-like Lorenzo Odom, got in Detwon's ear and totally undermined the coaches and staff, convincing him he can get Detwon a better opportunity elsewhere. And Detwon bought into his BS.

Wouldn't it be nice if two hoop-centric Catholic schools like Dayton and Providence played in the same league? (Talking to you, @BIGEAST)
Great wins are made by great opponents. Dayton's win more precious due to storied history of Providence program.
