The Wait Is Almost Over |
Dec 13, 2019 - 5:47 PM - by Swampy Meadows

BEVERLY HILLS (MI) -- It happens this time every year:
Finals Week
That seven day period when there are no Flyer games on the schedule, so that the guys can focus on wrapping up their studies for the first semester. Dayton Daily News UD beat writer David Jablonski used the pause to hit the beaches of southwestern Florida with his family, including a stop at “FTS” favorite Sanibel Island.
How did you spend your... [Read More]

100 Days |
Dec 06, 2019 - 3:28 PM - by Swampy Meadows

BEVERLY HILLS (MI) -- For those of you keeping score at home, there are 100 days remaining in the college basketball season until “Selection Sunday” arrives. For the Flyers, that means 24 more games, the biggest of which on the UD non-con sked being this Sunday vs. Saint Mary’s. What transpires at 4:00pm EST in Phoenix will go a long way to determine what seed the Red and Blue will see next to their name in 100 days.

Finishing Strong - The 2019 Alli Papesh Story |
Dec 04, 2019 - 10:53 AM - by BeckysTXA

I think it’s fair to say after Alli Papesh was named the 2018 A10 Rookie of the Year, the Flyer Faithful expectations for her sophomore year were high. She is after all the highest ranked hitter to ever play for Dayton coming out of high school as the #66 recruit. She enrolled at Dayton a semester early and got a spring season in with her new team. In the fall of 2018, she came out of the gate her freshman year playing opposite the 2018 A10 Player of the Year Lauren Bruns in the rotation.... [Read More]

What Goes Up Must Come Down |
Dec 02, 2019 - 3:02 PM - by Swampy Meadows

BEVERLY HILLS (MI) -- According to Newton’s Law of Gravity, what goes up must come down -- eventually. I witnessed Mr. Newton’s theorem in practice recently at the Birmingham YMCA. After playing pickup hoops on a crowded Sunday afternoon, I was ready to hit the showers, but couldn’t find my basketball, a recent birthday gift from my son in law. It was a Wilson Evolution and had not seen a single second of playing time on asphalt. It was my “inside ball” and it really cheesed... [Read More]
