BEVERLY HILLS (MI) -- Way back in my freshman year at UD, UH floormate Steve Downes came back from Columbus urging everyone on the 3rd floor to “Kick out the jams!!!” At first we had no idea what the hell Downes was talking about. Until that is, we got a copy of the MC5’s album of the same name which began with vocalist Rob Tyner exhorting us all to:

Kick out the jams father rapers! (or words to that effect)
