Senior Night

BEVERLY HILLS (MI) -- On Saturday night at 8:00 PM on the CBS Sports Network the UD Flyers will face off vs. the VCU Rams for all of the A-10 marbles (or at least a piece of them anyway). Prior to tipoff, the Flyer Faithful will bid adieu (note my use of French here) to seniors Dyshawn Pierre and Bobby Wehrli and Dr. Willie and the band will play both O Canada and The Star Spangled Banner in their respective honor.

As we have seen most recently with Texas (vs. Kansas) and Richmond (vs. the Flyers) playing at home on Senior Night is not a guarantee of a victory. But with so much to play for, one would hope that Archie’s guys will come firing out of the gate like there is no tomorrow, even tho we all know there is a tomorrow…and a next week in Brooklyn…and an NCAA bid forthcoming on Selection Sunday.

So what exactly are VCU and UD playing for? David Jablonski of The DDN spells it out for us:

Pickin’ Splinters summarizes Dayshon’s (his real name) performance against Richmond with video linky goodness included:

-- Here is how Twitter reacted to the big win in “The Capital of the South” (as Pete Gillen likes to call it) on Super Tuesday:

-- Kendall Pollard is Dayton’s injured X Factor:

-- Jerry Palm of CBS Sports runs thru who is hot and who is not heading into the NCAA Tournament and Dayton is not listed under either of those temperature extremes:

-- Vote early and often for the Red Scare in the NCSSA “Loud and Proud Student Section of the Year” contest:

-- 2017 PG Evan Gilyard of Chicago Simeon led his squad to the Chicago Public League Championship recently:

Unfortunately, Gilyard was in the house for the disappointing loss to Rhode Island.

-- Speaking of Senior Night, Max Hooper of Oakland University had himself a pretty special one:

Way to go Swamp . . . another season. Another season where we had lots of highs, deadly lows but that's why we Flyer Fans are a special breed of cat. Lots of great columns . . . just one suggestion: Just For Men. The nice thing about March Madness . . . the Jersey Shore is just four months in our future.
