BEVERLY HILLS (MI) -- While Archie and the Flyers have some Spiders to stomp Saturday afternoon and rumors swirl about UD’s future conference affiliation, the biggest deal in Dayton, Ohio this weekend takes place on Sunday. That’s when Jim Jabir and the (Don’t Call Us ‘Lady’) Flyers take on Saint Joseph’s in a nationally televised contest on ESPN2 at 2:00 PM.

Jabir’s charges are currently ranked #12 in the nation in both the AP and USA Today Coaches Poll and are starting to garner some much-earned national praise:

In advance of Sunday’s matchup, Graham Hays from ESPN.com took an in-depth look at what makes the Flyers tick:

Hays also penned this profile piece on Coach Jabir back in 2010:

A search of YouTube provides a video profile on the 400 game winner from 2010:

The key facet to the Flyers success? Keeping local talent home:

Charlie Crème, the Joe Lunardi of women’s hoops has the Flyers as a #4 seed in his latest Bracketology, altho that could become a #3 shortly:

Sophomore Ally Mallott is featured in this podcast from HoopFeed.com:

Tom Archdeacon of The DDN provides a glimpse into what makes this young Flyer team so special to their fans:

Sunday is Senior Day and the Flyers will honor Olivia Applewhite, Sam MacKay and Brittany Wilson before the game:

Here’s the deal, folks:

Sunday’s home finale will be a “White-Out” and all Flyer fans who show up wearing white will be admitted for $1.

You read that right, one dollar.

Heck you can’t even buy a candy bar for a buck anymore and the Flyers are gonna give you 40 minutes of exciting hoops and a chance to be on national TV, all for one hundred pennies.

UD Arena is legendary for the intense, sell-out crowds that consistently come out to support the men’s squad. Let’s show ESPN, the rest of the country and our old and new conference brethren what the “Dayton Decibel Distaff Dungeon” is all about.

We owe it to ‘em.

That’s it “From the Swamp.”
