The Beat Goes On

BEVERLY HILLS (MI) -- The annual college coaching carousel seems to have finally slowed to a stop for 2013. However, the mass exodus of college hoops transfers rolls on unabated.

The latest transfer list compiled by Jeff Goodman of CBS Sports includes almost 425 Division 1 players who are changing schools.

425!

Linky craziness:

What can be done to stop the insanity?

How about guaranteed, multi-year scholarships? Wouldn’t that help to stem the transfer tide? Well, you might not know it but guaranteed, multi-year schollies are available -- it’s just that very few colleges are offering them:

Swampy, I might be missing something (God knows that me and computers don't get along very well) BUT, could you repost the link on the Bagley kid (the 7th grader you mentioned) I cannot seem to get what you posted to work. Is it me? Thanks....

Great stuff, Swampy! Wow - Scoochie takes spin moves and crossover dribbles to the next level. I understand that was a "best of video," but he demonstrated some incredible moves. I like the way he switches hands around the bucket. That is a rare talent. I am not sure where he got the nickname "Scoochie," but it could be the way he "scooches" the ball on the floor in order to evade a defender's hands. I can't wait to see him in a Flyer uniform. As much as I like Khari Price, Scoochie is going to be hard to keep off the floor. In regard to Kyle Ahrens, he reminds me of a bigger, stronger, and more athletic version of John Diebler, the former Buckeye. He likely doesn't have the shooting range or accuracy that Diebler had, but I surely like his combination of skills that appears to exceed Diebler's. He would look mighty nice at that 3 spot with Scoochie kicking it out to him after dribble penetration into the lane!!!!
