As for the game, my analysis - #2 Yaya Felder top scorer at 16 ppg - from what I've watched goes one on one a lot - put Jones on her.

Shouldn't be a rebound concern - Bobcats nobody over 6'1 though Dennis needs to be blocked out inside.

OU only 12 turnovers last two games after 33 at Ohio St.

OU very soft perimeter defense - IUPUI killed them on 3's but if it's not UD's forte I hope they don't force it - pound inside with Perez and Wheeler - let Bohannon set them up.

Certainly UD can win but the turnover count will be key as will the unknown factor - how many players will UD have (3,5,7,9???) Okay exaggerating that a bit. When I find out that information I will post just before gametime.

For people locally this may mean something, Chelsea Welch was a star at Fairmont High School and she is on the staff at Ohio - I'll be interviewing her tonight not only about this game but about her HS Career, two years at Wright St leading the conference in scoring both years and her professional career in Portugal. So she may bump Assistant Coach Washington to next week.

I see progress, I’m still encouraged. They played a GREAT second half winning Q3 and tying Q4 — that”s an improvement!

It’s all about getting hardened for A10 games.

They have little margin for error and with so young/few players that margin is magnified (or is it shrunk?) 😁

How can you not feel for Coach Meek. It can be a cruel game. Unfortunately she just doesn't have the players w/poise and experience yet to make enough plays down the stretch to win. It was a better 2nd half than 1st half. That alone is progress. But 19 TOs in a 50pt pace is once again way way too many. That needed to be 10 or under. Turnovers lost the game for us because we more or less won all the other stat categories. When baskets and turnovers are about the same, you're staring down the barrel of a loss.

Imagine the mental box one has to be in to have played on the greatest college basketball team of all time and then be coaching a team that's at the very bottom of D-I right now. It's having to reconcile what you know and what you did with what and where you currently are. Meek is having to coach around shortcomings she never had to even think about in her own career, let alone devise a way to resolve them.

With Bohanon tonight we probably pull this game out. Whomever was ragging on Bohanon in another thread about what she's never done, it's what she's doing that matters and in season thus far with few bright spots, she's been one of them.

Averaging 14.5ppg, shooting .392% (not great), but 10-20 from three point range (.500%) and 12-15 (.800%) from the line. And here's the big stat: 15 assists to just EIGHT turnovers and nine steals. Yeah on a team approaching twice as many turnovers as assists, she has almost twice as many assists as turnovers.

Destiny has pulled her weight for a kid that basically never saw the floor under Shauna. Its everybody else that needs to step up. The only other player shooting above 30% from three point range is Kozlova. If this team wants to win any games it wont be inside the paint b/c we have no height and bodies. We gotta hit jumpers. But not at this rate.

Very well said Chris unfortunately it's not going to get better against Florida Sunday but should have nine players available - was told after the game Flyers should've been awarded the ball with 1.2 left for a last shot. 3.6 left definitely an over pass resulting in the ball going out of bounds. So painful last night and it's been like this all season the turnovers resulting from interior post passing - but you outrebound the opponent by 17 and don't get the "W" so painful. And thank you for defending Destiny.

I see good effort from players and understand where they are looking for offense. All good things. Particularly like the intent to throw the ball into the post. Simplistic, but a good tone setting mindset. But of course, it's just not there this year... with this collection of players. While frustrating, I can appreciate the grit and effort.

Thanks for info about the technical free throw before the game started. I saw some Arena employees looking at electrical box under basket, but could not put it together during game.
But I still question one play with about 2 minutes to go... OU #2 drove and drew contact. It was some euro-type step through which basket was made after at least one more 'step' and gather and then shot. It looked to be a 'play on' in my mind - sure there was contact, but offense initiated it and no advantage gained/lost. But officials blew whistle, awarded the 2pt bucket, and gave OU the ball out of bounds. I have no clue why the counted basket and gave ball to OU. Either basket plus free throw or foul on the floor and ball out of bounds. Anybody know what was called? Seemed very strange to me.

I didn't understand it completely either, but I think what happened was that the foul occurred off the ball away from the shooter, after the shot was made, so somewhat of a dead-ball offensive-foul situation, so the shot counted and then it was an offensive foul turnover.

Looking at the play-by-play, though, there is no turnover listed which seems completely weird since they got the bucket in the paint. Then the foul is listed by Sydney Freeman (off the ball) which is where the official by the scorer's desk called it. No turnover is listed though, so I think that's a scoring issue. I don't remember this part, specifically, but maybe on the inbounds, Nayo Lear has a foul 1 second later.

From my understanding the basket and off ball foul occurred simultaneously thus Ohio maintained possession and UD is not charged with a turnover. Another bizarre play that led to yet another tough loss.
