Fordham High Noon Thread
They have a senior starting cast that feels like they've been there ten years- similar situation to what UD had last year. What stands out is this Coach has them in a much quicker tempo - their scoring is up twenty percent from last year - the concentration is D fense on the killer D's - Downey, De Wolfe and especially Dingle. Have to carry that second half play against Duquesne over to this game. Fordham won't be rattled - when they beat Davidson in the conference opener they trailed 10-0 four minutes into the game. Their bench has been solidified this year with grad student Dapaa transfer from St. Francis, PA.

Shot the ball well, rebounded with them, but once again turnovers killed us. 21-10

Yup Fordham on the other hand had 18 assists and 10 TOs. Fordham doesn't not full court press either like VCU did or still does. Just tough halfcourt D. We do not protect the rock. Rams are always one of the best defensive teams and teams in general in the A10. We hung in there for a half but right now we are a horse without a frontstretch sprint. After a few furlongs we run out of gas. Given the lack of depth and experience not a surprise.
Im surprised some of these games are even this competitive.

Fordham's D really limited the inside play. At least it felt that way. The offense seemed very disjointed as Fordham took away the Perez post action. And we really could not stop their 2 quick small guards.
But loved the energy and effort.
Feels like they are starting to understand the effort required to win. And Fordham was a bad matchup. Cautiously optimistic going forward.

UMass will be another bad matchup in two weeks but other than that I think if they play smart and limit turnovers (big IF) they can be in every conference game. (Maybe not at Rhode Island) Good year not to have to play Fordham twice. A bit discouraging since UD got up 8-0 and had 16 paint points in the first quarter and 16 paint points the last three quarters.
