CHICAGO (IL) –- BG to UGa? I don’t theenk so, Cisco. First read about this rumor over on “The Blackburn Review” and about the only part that seems factual is that it appears it is time for current Dawgs Coach Dennis Felton to make like horsesh*t and hit the trail. Scroll down and read some of the comments after the blog entry –- they are not very happy campers down there in Georgia:

As I posted on the FlyerHoops.net MB, all it would take is a phone call from BG to either Tubby Smith or the guy who replaced him -– former UD assistant Ron Jirsa –- to set BG straight. More details at:

-- Just what the hell was this guy thinking when he walked out onto the court in the middle of the Marquette/Providence game?

Turns out he was the injured players’ brother but still, since when do fans interrupt the game and question a ref –- on the floor? The replay clearly shows the kid got clocked by an inadvertent elbow.
I watched part of this tilt and thought there was NFW that Marquette was ever gonna win…but I’m certainly glad that they did, as it’s obviously good for UD’s RPI.
-- I’m planning on doing a series of “What Do We Know About…From the Swamp” columns on several of UD’s 2010 recruiting targets, similar to the one I did recently for Jalen Steele from Knoxville. Here is the “What Do We Know About Adriean Payne?” article, written by guest columnist Sgt. Schultz from “Hogan’s Heroes”:
“I know nothing!”
-- Sean McAdam of the
Boston Globe got off a good one when reporting that the Red Sox had traded pitcher David Pauley to Baltimore:
“Pauley? You Won’t See Him No More.”

-- Everybody knows that Ohio is a hotbed of boys HS basketball recruits, but what about the girls? The following list from JJHuddle.com documents that the Buckeye state is cranking out lady hoopsters by the dozens, including a couple –- Kari Daugherty and Samantha McKay -- who are UD bound:

And no, I don’t think it’s strictly due to Title IX, either.
-- Here is one I have never heard of before. Someone who is a ref will have to ‘splain this call to me:
“In a recent matchup with Meadowdale, Dunbar was assessed an indirect technical before the tip. Dunbar's players entered the court on each side of the Lions as they warmed up.”
What’s up with that call?

Geron Johnson of Dunbar had 34 points. He’s a late-bloomer with some scholastic issues but I’m sure BG and staff are keeping an eye on him.
-- Hey thanks “jumpin joe” for the “Name That Flyer” quizzes on the UD Pride MB…lotsa fun. I guessed Mike Blevins for Player #6 and then recalled that it was actually a pic of Mike Leffel while driving home. Didn’t want to type my guess on my cell phone while cruising on Lakeshore Drive (altho my old boss used to do that and it drove me crazy) and by the time I got to the Elvis Room someone else had nailed it.

-- Do you get MLB-TV on your cable system? So far, I really like what I have seen and it is not just because they are showing lots of Red Sox stuff, altho that doesn’t hurt. It’ll be interesting to see how they do in-season. They are talking about providing “live look-ins” which is even better than the instant highlights for which “Baseball Tonight” on ESPN is famous. I’ve always liked Harold Reynolds and Hazel Mae (formerly of Red Sox owned NESN) is not just another pretty face –- she’s a good host.
Loved watching the 4th (and deciding) game of the 2007 World Series on MLB-TV, except that I completely forgot that in the middle of the game, uber weasel Scott Boreass announced that his client A-Fraud would be opting out of his contract with the Spankees. Boy did that ruin the mood. What a toolbag.
-- Mrs. Swampy was kinda glad we didn’t make the trek to her hometown of Pittsburgh for the
Dukes game (due to the weather). After what seemed like a half-dozen consecutive turnovers early in the 1st half I screamed at my computer:
“Pass the @#+^$%! ball to someone on your own ?&%!@* team will ya!!!”
I told her I wouldn’t have yelled that if we were actually at the game…but I sure would have thought it really loud!
That’s it “From the Swamp.”
