BEVERLY HILLS (MI) –- Boy, Wednesday was kind of a slow news day, wasn’t it? The Flyers’ prized 2010 recruit announced he is going to attend Oak Hill Academy next year and UD officially extended BG’s contract until the year 2525. Remember that tune from 1969 by Zager and Evans? Anyone? Anyone? Ho hum, other than that, there is not much happening in Flyerland.
-- I’m sure I’m not alone on this: when I first heard that Juwan was headed to Oak Hill, my initial thought was “Wouldn’t it be great if Mark Adams did one of his games on the ESPN family of networks?”
So I emailed Mark:
Coach
You should start lobbying now with the powers that be in Bristol for the opportunity to broadcast one of Juwan Staten's games at Oak Hill next season. What a combo: the "Hometown Coach" and the next "Hometown Flyer."

I'm sure Oak Hill will be on but I probably won't. Paul Biancardi does the HS broadcasts. I fill in on rare occasions but they had me concentrate on college last season. Never know though as I am their designated pinch hitter for just about everything hoops related. Great hearing from you Swampy and all my best!

Oh well, I’m willing to bet that Coach Biancardi will have plenty of good things to say about Juwan, UD, BG, etc.
-- Speaking of Juwan’s announcement that he will finish his HS career in Mouth of Wilson, VA, here are three differing viewpoints:
“BG is possibly a cuckold” from The Blackburn Review:

“The University of Dayton may be an afterthought” from JJHuddle.com:

And Juwan and his parents say that he’s “rock solid” for UD:

So, who are you gonna believe? Maybe it’s just me, but I’ll take what’s behind door #3, Bob.
-- What Messrs. Blackburn and Stubbs failed to take into account is that Juwan will have signed his LOI to attend UD before he plays his first basketball game for Oak Hill. BCS coaches can drool all they want when they see him play next year, but he will already have committed to be a Flyer and the free pub Juwan will garner can do nothing but help the Dayton program. I emailed Stubbs and suggested that he shoulda checked with his co-worker (and UD alum) Matt Natali before posting such tripe.
